Kinda the same but different. I can only hear the super high and low frequencies out of my right ear. If someone whispers into that ear all I hear is the air coming out of thier mouths. And I definitely do much better while I'm looking right at them!

I mean like.. Lock it in 4WD and let er eatttttttttttttt!

So that seems incredibly idiotic. I saw how much Toyota is paying the dealer for the K0D recall work.. No intelligent dealer or advisor would turn away any vehicle unless they hate making money...
Lol... Good luck with your new camera too... We have had a few dead on arrival already :frusty:
Diesel fumes in the cabin? You may have a slight leak from your manifolds if that is the case? Cause usually you don't get any of those sweet sweet diesel smells with the enviro-pee-in-your-exhaust-fumes-o-matic systems.

This is from the same advisor who told me they need to "flush" the manual transmission fluid. I gently explained it's a drain and fill and he was like "uhh, I talked to my tech and it needs to be hooked to a machine." Uh-huh. He also told me there was no difference between Toyota LF (a straight SAE 75) and LX (75w-90) and tried to charge me for a TSB even though the first page states it's covered under the emissions warranty.

The head advisor seemed like he had at least a slightly better head on his shoulders and knew what I was trying to do, but what frustrates me the most is when I encounter the service advisor that knows almost nothing about vehicles. Typically, I know exactly what I want, or what's wrong with my vehicle, but rather than speaking to the tech who can easily help me out, I have to work through you, who has no idea what I'm talking about. I wish the average service advisor was at least a tech at some point in his life, but I know lots of them are stuck being glorified salespeople.

If/when I get rejected, I'll reach out to the dealership that @jpereira2 used, explain the whole story and see what happens. Life was so much easier in the Subaru world where I had the option of enthusiast shops, or dealers where all the advisors, techs and parts guys drove modded WRX/STi/Foresters and understood the cars and my need to overmaintain them.

They only ordered and replaced the rear even though I told them the front was the worse one. Now the rear doesn't show in the 360 view and I see codes in the IPM saying the trailer backup and the 360 view need calibration. I think they just put it in without doing that and called it good.

I would honestly change dealers. I have never been a tech professionally, however I know a thing or two cause I've broken a thing or two :anonymous: I have always been technically minded, I have always loved anything with a motor. I possess the rare skill of being able to explain overly-complicated things in layman's terms so they understand it.

I have always had the philosophy as well that I will never sell something that the customer doesn't need. I have hated dealerships from the time I got my license. I always try to do my own work anyway, but I can't stand the know-it-all advisors who try to cram a bunch of bullshit down your throat for no reason other than them making more money.

You're absolutely right about the Subaru world. Honestly, I have had the best luck and easiest work environment in my years with that brand. The brand is easy to work with, parts are readily available, and the techs I've worked with have been outstanding. The customer base is more of an enthusiast base, compared to "my dad had a Ford, and my grandpa had a Ford, so I have a Ford... Why does my automatic need new clutches and how dare you try to make me pay for them?!"

I definitely love my job and I try to make the car service experience as simple and honest as possible! That's why I have customers who follow me from dealership to dealership :notsure:
I think I know that dude lol.
 I LOVEEEEE parts replacers! The tech probably guessed on the diagnosis, ordered a camera, slapped it in, and didn't even check to see if it worked. Makes me giddy!

Yup, I think you hit the nail on the head. Worst part is my main complaint was with the front camera. That one acts up a lot, the back one only occasionally. Then they only looked at the back one.

Still not sure how they put it in reverse and saw it black and thought nothing of it after they swapped it. I think some of it may be that they sell mostly STXs and XLTs so most trucks they get in for service probably don't have all the extra cameras mine does and they don't even really look. I showed the service writer the missing rear camera on the 360 view before I left (she looked baffled) and I sent them the codes from the IPM-B later when I pulled them at home. They are supposed to deal with it week after next. Though I am unsure if they even have a front camera yet because it looks like they only bothered to order a rear based on the paperwork.

I also told them the driver's side ventilated/cooled seat has a fan that sounds like it has shot bearings or something--it's louder than the passenger's and has a vibration that doesn't exist on the other side. They told me they couldn't duplicate it which surprised me because it's very obvious when you compare the two and happens 100% of the time. Now that they sent me the paperwork I know why--"C/S the driver's rear seat vent is loud / has vibration - check and advise | Checked rear seat vents in center console, louvers tight do not rattle, tried all blower speeds, heat, a/c, vent, and defrost positions, no noise, unable to duplicate concern." Ugh! Not even close to what I said.

I read something about a sensor that comes loose and can cause fumes in the cabin. I need to get it up on ramps and take a look.

@jpereira2 by far is the best. No matter where you live in MA, Taunton is close enough for the service you will get for your money.

Anyone else have trouble sleeping in full moons? Too bright for me, too much moon energy I dunno, but I always find myself up all night around them. Been up since 2 just doing nothing cruising the cesspool of the internet.

    Nothing good, surprise surprise.

During the summer it's not too bad; only wakes me up during a 2-3 hour window when the moon is between the eaves on the house and the treeline, and not for every full moon due to when it rises & sets changing, cloud cover, etc. But during the winter it's a problem. Between the sky having fewer clouds on average, no leaves on the trees, & the reflected light from the snow, full moons during the winter are not my friend.
