Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
Unless you are 4x, the grey wire MOD is pointless for you, if you are a prerunner w/rear locking diff. you already can do what the grey wire MOD can do for a 4 wheel drive.....

Ya i know why the grey wire mod is done. if you have a 4x4 it wont lock unless ur in 4wd...... and yes mine is 4x4 so it wasnt pointless.

OK fair enough, didn't see any mention of yours being 4x in your truck description, therefore not pointless, do the MOD, it is stupid simple, & it does take longer to rouind up the tools to do it than the MOD itself..!!:D

I would probably edit that comment before our "save the trails" don't eff with the land guy comes and locks this. Donuts on off road trails are bad for the environment I guess.

    OK I'm correcting you because you're wrong...:D;)

He wants to know what we use it for, thats easy , the benefit for being able to lock in any gear config. i.e; 2wd ,4wd high range/low range (stock)
just gives you that much more variation in how you approach some obstacles. for example I like hitting mudholes, deep sand etc; faster than , say going up or crawling around rocks, stumps, ledges etc; for obvious reasons, the faster (to a point) you start thru mud, sand obstacles the more successful your going to be getting thru them & without the added stress of having to over rev in low range, not to mention all that glorious momentum your going to lose if you desired to go thru it with the benefit of 2 rear wheels locked & a front wheel pulling as well, at a higher speed than say 2o mph with your engine revving about 4 or 5 grand & with the ability to lock the diff in any range you eliminate the need to 4lo it into locking, hope this makes a little sense anyway....:D

I've used the locker for going up steep gravel/grass driveways where I did not feel like putting it in 4x4 since it was such a short period of time. Also used it when going through a mud section that did not need 4 lo (like "4WD" stated). I just made sure I unlocked it once I stopped or made it through the section.

I use the convenience of this mod all the time...love it. Will be going up some uneven steep hills and just push the button and keep on rockin right thru. The best part is telling the people behind me that, no, I didn't have to put it in 4wd for that section...did you? =)
