Weather tech mats, LED interior lights and reverse lights, tube steps, bed extender, bed mat, folding bed cover, TRD Pro grill, blacked out badges and wheel center caps. Kicker speakers(all 6). Front bed rail header. Under hood LEDs. Tufskinz door and interior foam inserts. Chrome interior door handles. Fumoto drain valve. Aluminum oil filter canister. Rear view mirror with Homelink. Quick charge USB charging ports. TRD badge on grill. MESO fuse box cover. Redline Tuning hood struts. Ceramic coating. Pop & Lock auto tailgate lock. LED bed lights. Lower bumper LED light that bar. MESO coin holder. TRD cat back exhaust. Hikari Ultra LEDs high and low beams. 2020 TRD Sport wheels and TRD center caps. RSC Nano dashcam. DSM from the Taco Garage. Blue Sea dual USB outlet on back of center console. KDMax7.0
As easy as it is to take apart, I would do that instead of taping off. In fact, if you never want it chrome again, rough it up, use a good etching primer and paint it. The plasti dip is eventually going to come off.

I think there was a youtube video out there, but the chrome ring is basically held in by chrome colored clips on the backside, just squeeze 'em and release. If I recall there are about ten all the way around the ring. I seem to recall a bunch of screws as well, but it was last March when I did it, so memory is a bit hit and miss here. It's easy once you have the grill off, you'll see what needs to come apart.

Looks a lot better than the plastic caps! And, much cleaner without the extensions.

Here is my impulse buy for today. Midland MicroMobile 15W GMRS

My previous buys include a disconnect plug for the KTJO pop and open, so I can frequently remove my tailgate, and mini ditch/puddle lights! (warm white) @Nimble9 @ARCHIVE

 I'll post some night shots when I'm done with the @MESO puddle pods.

Tip: Separate the two someplace warm and use your wife's hair dryer (not a heat gun) when messing with the clips that separate the two.
That plastic gets even more brittle than they already are when the plastic is cold!

I think the black covers are about making them look more “finished” versus making them specifically black.
