Advantages are it should work. I don’t understand your questions. You had it replaced or you haven’t?

How are you going to watch a fuel pump? If it works it works. When it doesn't I'm confident you'll know.

I just had my fuel pump recall completed two days ago.

    Difference?

Old pump. I would feel slight hesitation at lower speeds, but I got used it. Thought it was normal of something.

New pump. No hesitation at lower speeds from before. Everything is working as intended.

Most people haven’t had issues with the old one. So no need to worry after you get the new one.

Just for the record, bad fuel pumps are not an isolated Toyota issue. Many manufactureres have had this both foreign and domestic.

Right. So the expectation is that it will work like it did for the first year and a half you owned it.

My 2018 is still going strong. 31k on the clock.

I understand that. The point is there is nothing to be done other than get it replaced with what Toyota has determined to be a proper replacement. And then you trust that it will work just like you trust all the other parts of your vehicle to function as they should.

I get that. I guess I am asking the guys that have had the fuel pump replaced if they had had any issues with the new pump or maybe some advantages of having a new pump. With a fuel pump that's been in recalled 2013 vehicles, nah, not trusting Toyota to be honest about its performance.

Thanks for the info. I'm happy with the smoother transition under load.

How so? I've had a fuel pump fail at highway speeds during a winter storm and was merely pissed because I couldn't get to work. I still had electric so my brake lights and everything still worked.

Okay... I thought that this would play out civilly, but apparently we can't seem to do that. I'll clean the thread up (including my joke that seems to have not landed cleanly), and I'll let this be just an open (and only) warning to everyone to cease the poo flinging :crapstorm:.

On to the fuel pump discussion!

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN :pumpkin:

I got the recall notice and my dealer called to request I bring my truck in. Should I wait 2k more miles for my oil change or is it really an "Immediate" need?

I left the comments that I felt provided "at least" some substance to the discussion. If people can't pay along with that I'll just ban and move on. I'm in a mood for that.
