The edge of the platform is going to be lower than the area under the hatch and any reverse rake is going to exaggerate that. My suggestion is get a used Habitat. If you like it, it'll last forever. If you don't, you can sell it and not lose that much in terms of hidden costs.

Hab on Tacoma with 2” lift and 33s... you will be fine. My truck is on 2.5” lift and fresh 32’s. 75” from ground to bottom (top?) of the deployed overhang.

    Ish.

there is a threaded section with a bolt on it. The sleeve it goes through is riveted to the pole. One of mine is loose but I haven’t gotten around to drilling out the rivet to tighten the bolt and rivet it back in

Are we talking about the springy-doo ends of the rods? I find mine unthreaded from the part that is riveted to the rod from time to time. I just spin them back down again. One day I’ll get around to adding some locktite to the threads.

Yeah those things. Mine just spin and spin. I called AT and they said there’s a nut on the itersife inside the pole and the only way to fix is to remove the rivet and tighten it

Locktite was recommended by AT if they come loose.

The bolt at the end of the rod rotates and makes it difficult to reattach the connector. After I screwed the connector on the bolt as best as I could using needle nose, I then attached the connector to the knob on the Habitat, and continued to turn the rod while gently pulling on the rod in an attempt to apply pressure to the bolt. I still have a bit of a gap, but we'll see how it works.

Thanks for the measurement! That's cutting it real close for me. You're sitting at 75" clearance ... I'm 75" tall (not including hair). I think the two lift and tire options should come out about the same.

Lol. Is 2” enough for 33’s?

Also what is the plan for lift, not much at 2” iirc.

    Oh, I have a 2nd gen.

You can fit 35's with trimming. You don't need a lift. :sawzall::welder:

going with your thought, and my earliest idea about L-track mounting, today I put my first two Thru-holes into the Hab. So photo below. The Hab wall has the aluminum sandwiched 'honeycomb', and attached to the outer skin. Thats two layers of aluminum on the skin, that made me wonder about the length of the Riv-nut and how well it 'mushrooms' when placed with the astro tool. Clearly putting a thru-bolt is a better option now that I look at it, IMO. After two drillings I'm taking a break for coffee and a post. I have had previous difficulty trying to drill a hole thru multiple panels in a PerPendicular (plumb) manner. Unfounded concern here. I use a Step-Bit to make the first skin puncture, a very clean hole. This piece of L-track has three Riv-nuts where I have the inside cabinet, and seven thru holes. I buy the L-track with no holes and drill and countersink where I want,PITA.

I finally went through the motions of changing my comprehensive car insurance to cover the "mods" including the Atlas and they dropped me. Do you guys have all of your mods listed including your camper? And if so Ill need to know who your insuance company is so I can get coverage lol.

I had coverage on mine up until recently (changed mine since i havent been traveling this year). It was like an additional $50/month and they capped customization / accessories at $10k.

I’ve gone back and forth on it. At this point, I’ve decided I’ll just save the money and not have coverage. After a couple years, the money saved would offset the loss if something were to happen.

Thats my plan for the next company. I think I can chalk up some loss but the camper NEEDS to be covered. Or I need to find a different daily driver.
