No mods or anything, but when I went shopping for my truck in 2016, I wanted to buy a used one. Turns out thru my research that these trucks hold their value well.

The used one I was looking at was a 2014 w/43K miles. They wanted $31k and would hardly budge on the price.

For $33k I bought a new truck w/no miles and a warranty. Couldn't beat that.

Turns out I can sell my truck now (low miles) for close to $30k.

Of course, a new truck like mine is ~$40k now.

Now I am looking for tires and from what I read here, Michelin LTX A/T 2 is the way to go..

You're story is almost exactly how I ended up with a new 2012. I was looking for good used trucks, but ended up buying a new one for the same amount of money.

I ran the LTX AT2's and liked those a lot but on the expensive side. For the money i enjoyed every mile from my Cooper Discoverer AT3's just as much and at the time they were almost $80 less per tire(rebates and such).
