FWIW ... I put a Costco seat cushion on the seating area and a small pillow in the lower back area and this works great for me.

I have all the pillows, neck rests, lumbar supports, butt rests, beaded seat covers (with and without bedazzles) that Amazon has to offer. I swap at least one thing in or out every hour at least.

I had the same complaint about my T4R. Had to buy one of those ergonomic cushions for office chairs to make it bearable. One of the main reasons I didn't keep it very long.

I love everything else about the truck now that it's been all decked out. VFTune was a great improvement. Just have to convince wifey to let me borrow her 4Runner on my next long trip. It seems to be better but I haven't driven it very much yet.

Sounds like you need our front Seat Jackers, they lift just the front of your seat by 1.25" and provide that much needed thigh support.

Edit with link DDI and front Seat Jackers

^^ I'm going to try the spacer test before placing an order, hopefully it's works. Otherwise, I'll be looking for a reputable upholstery shop.:pout:

Drove home 6 hours from Moab two weekends ago. Pinched a nerve in my neck on the left side. Took a few days to recover before I could lift anything with my left hand. I will probably go down the Scheel-mann seat upgrade route, for the drivers side. Either that, or go buy a F-150 :crapstorm: People who might find this thread hilarious simply don't have these sorts of problems, I suppose. To each their own.

I test drove my truck for 20 mins before I purchased it and had no issues. But i lived 1hr and 45 mins from the dealership where I bought it. I had discomfort about an hour into my drive home.
I purchased the seat jacks from desertdoesit.com I just recently drove my truck on an 8 hr trip down to visit my brother and the seat comfort was a night and day difference. I highly recommend getting them...

Personally, I don't see how the seat jackers would help me. I have a 2020 so it has the electronic adjustability. I can adjust the front of the seat upward or downward, separate from the main up or down seat adjustment. I keep it all the way down, but the overall seating position is still pitched backwards. I did just have a realization driving the truck last night around town. The top of my shoulders stick 4" above the main seat back. They touch the headrest, even when the head rest is extended upward a few notches. So, my torso is simply too tall for this seat. This also manifests as my head being an inch away from the ceiling even when the seat is at its lowest position. And, thusly, difficulty seeing fully out the windshield. From reading what others have done... it occurred to me that I could have the upholstery shop remove foam from the butt meats portion of the seat. If they could remove an inch or two, to get my body to sink down into the seat better, I think it would go a long ways. I have some credit with the upholstery shop so I will call them today and schedule an appointment. I will post pics of my before and after when it's done. Stay tuned!

Do you get longer hardware with the seat jackers? Am I being paranoid in worrying about how they'd change things or hold up in an accident?

I have a 2020 and immediately noticed something pushing on my lower spine. I pulled the seat cover up and found this crazy metal contraption that raises the headrest if we get rear ended. Super easy to remove it and now the seat is much more comfortable. Not sure why they put that thing in there protruding into our lower back‘s but it’s a world of difference once it’s removed. Certainly worth a try if your seat is uncomfortable. Without it he would certainly survive a rear end collision just fine.

they give you everything you need to swap out. I understand the concern but yes Im sure they would hold up in an accident just fine.

No, not paranoid. This was a topic of debate given shear forces when these types of things started to be sold here.

You have to calculate your own willingness for risk, but be mindful while things may not be affected, they also certainly may be. Home machinists and their product decide where that card will fall. Do what you’re comfortable with.

If you think the 3rd gen seats are uncomfortable then try out that Chevy mid size truck can’t think of the name but when I was looking for a new truck I sat in this truck and they were the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat on. Salesman ask me if I wanted to test drive I said no just could not stand the feel of those seats

I never understood the crowd that said...."I don't know what everybody's complaining about".

Not everyone has the same weight, body type, leg length, or the same history of injury etc.

So I understand that this isn't a Lexus, but God damn does it make sense to have more than one seed option. I guess they finally fixed that.

I don’t like how you seem to sit lower in the second gen but man, the seat bottom is longer and supports my legs better. I’m not a big dude by any means, I’m about 6 foot and 150 pounds but the seat cushion in my 2019 is way to small. I feel like I’m falling off the edge. It leaves about 3-4 inches before my knees and it’s just not ideal. I will say the truck is 500 times better than my old XJ and frankly it’s not “uncomfortable”. The lumbar adjustability and tilt/telescoping steering wheel is a complete joke. Again, not a total deal breaker but I guess after 25k miles you start to become critical on things. Over all I really love my truck and the only reason I’d sell it is for an F150 (mainly bigger back seat for kids/car seats) but man, overall the truck suits me perfectly. I might try the seat spacers but if I do then then I’m doing both seats because I’m OCD like that. If I can get the overall angle better and gain a little space under the seat it might actually help the rear passengers too. I noticed there is almost no space for your toes, especially with the factory all weather mats, so if the seat gets a little more height then the rear passengers could extend their legs a little better by getting more of their foot under the front seat.

I did both front seats when I did mine. I realize its not a "cheap" fix per se. But the guys who took the time to make them have to earn a living too... And changing the angle of the seat made a huge difference in leg comfort IMO. Best upgrade I could have done for my truck as far as Im concerned. And Im not a big person either. Im 6'0 about 175lbs...

not going to lie, I figured this was an overblown issue, trucks are truck and the seat works fine. I just took a six hour road trip that I take all the time, I use to drive a 2001 ford ranger, now I have a 2006 tacoma...the difference is real. about four hours into the trip I had to stop and take a walk from the leg and back pain. I am not a huge fan of the idea of paying a company a 100 dollars for an aluminum block with less machine work on it then an AR-15 lower so I think its off to the shop for me to play around with fixing the problem myself.
