I've had this head unit for about a year and a half and absolutely hate it. The main reason is the POS touch screen and the stupid ass warning screens! The touch is not sensitive enough... I have to stab at the icons 5-6 times to get it to recognize just about everytime. Additionally, I had this unit for long enough and every damn time I switch to the GPS maps it has a warning screen telling me about the dangers of watching the screen while driving, top it off it take 5-6 stabs at the ok button to go away....

You know whats not safe pioneer? Trying to stab that damn 2 inch "ok" button 5-6 times while driving!

I need another GPS/DVD headunit w/ Ipod connections.... any suggestions, less than $700?

I'll tell you what I'd do if it was me. I'd pack that mofo up and send it to me. That'd show 'em. Nice truck BTW.

I have a differnet pioneer model, without DVD, but I am able to adjust the sensitivity on mine. Also, Is it possible to dissable that screen somehow? By grounding a wire or with a solenoid? Not sure on your model, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

I was at some local high end car audio store demo some components, they happened to have some pioneer top of the line touch screen for playback. I guess we are spoiled by iphone/ipad touchpanel technology... others are nothing just crap. Hey no, i refuse to use that pioneer (don't remember the model). The delay and awkwardness scrolling though menu and lists are beyond unbearable... I asked the guy, top of the line? seriously? I can't even scroll and pick up a song without the F word.

Yes the GUI is also confusing and limited... I must be spoiled by CE touch screens because the Pioneer one is junk

I should be able to click the artist and pick up the whole playlist from that artist... but no you must search by tapping on an arrow then selecting the letter, then selecting the artist... why can't I use the scroll wheel?

I always tell people to stay away from the pioneers for those reasons lol. I'd highly recommend a Alpine iva-w505. Touch screen works flawless and no stupid warning signs

X2, when I go to replace the stock headunit, I'll be going with a Kenwood.

Dig around on the www.avic411.com site, I changed the firmware on my old F90 to stop the nag screen and updated the maps too.

becareful though i ended up bricking my system because i went where i wasnt supposed to...but with my basic computer knowledge i was able to reinstall the firmware to the newer model pioneers, they have better touch screen sensitivity, also have you tried calibrating your screen with a stylus, not your finger?
