It was a JRE, but I couldn't get the version 6 jre. You need to create accounts and things with Oracle to grab those legacy versions and it seems that all of the old versions of those installers on the internet have been removed with Oracle being the single source for them now. I installed Java 8.

8 should be compatible. I don't have my PC in front of me, but try what @GrundleJuice suggested.

There is a newer version available (V15), but getting it activated is not as easy. You have to join up at the MHH forum.

Thanks guys, I'll grab my cable and go play around with techstream in the truck to see if it works. I can reset some benign things like door lock behavior or whatever to test it.

Running the health check and selecting all modules is a good check too.

Edit: I have JRE 8u271, no issues. https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

After you change some of the customizations in techstream, do you have to “set” them or flash them somehow to get them to stay?

Yes, it's an arrow pointing to the right if I recall. It's greyed out until you change something, then turns green for you to apply the change.

I tried techstream and I'm getting "Cannot Connect to VIM" errors. After initially getting that with the Version 8 JRE I was able to find an old 1.6.0_16 installer and use that. I now no longer get the Java error on techstream startup, but I'm still getting the "Connect Connect to VIM" error.

I verified that my cable is still working perfectly with OVTune, so the drivers are installed properly on my computer and there are no issues there.

Any ideas on why my Techstream is having issues??

Dumb question, but in the Setup menu, did you pick the Tactrix drivers for the connection?

Not as dumb as you might think... although I'm feeling pretty dumb at the moment. I'll give it a try now with the setting changed.

It did. The techstream interface sux, but the connection worked and I was able to access the TPMS subsystem so I'll be able to program in new TPMS values (as well as note the old ones first).

    Thanks for the tech support!!

Love it. I used TS to swap my winter and summer wheels. I found it faster than using a dedicated TPMS tool since I could store the #s in a text file and just copy/paste.

Any idea why i get an error when trying to connect to my vehicle? Install went well, techsream seems to be working fine. Not sure what the issue is here. Thx guys.

Configure Techstream for the cable you have?
