I can’t speak for Milwaukee, but I’m a huge fan of dewalt. I have their brushless drill and 1/2” cordless impact gun. Very good quality and battery life.

One can never have too many light bars.
I know both of those are well regarded. I have a bunch of Makita tools and I think they make a top notch product.

You’ll be fine with either one, good quality. Used both extensively throughout the years. Milwaukee is better though. And that’s not just an opinion. It’s MY opinion :D

I like makita also, I put them in slightly lighter duty category, and not a fan of the 2 battery approach on their larger tools. Overall a good brand though

6 of 1......half dozen of the other.

Suggest to take a hard look at Ridgid or Ryobi. Same company that makes Milwaukee, same supplier of motors, batteries, switches, bearings.........
You can spend less for same performance and life. All made and assembled in CHINA

Sorry, can't say how I know. Just know that my experience is 1st hand knowledge.

I have been watching a ton of reviews and one was the ryobi against a dewalt. I was actually pretty impressed with the ryobi. The dewalt obviously had it beat but barely. Ill have to see if ryobi has all the tools I need.

Milwaukee Fuel brushless without a doubt. Go to your local home center and get a feel for each brand, but I’ve owned dewalt and Milwaukee and the quality and durability of Milwaukee is impossible to go unnoticed.

    Either.
Both have large ecosystems now, Milwaukee much larger than DeWalt.

See which covers all your bases and go that route. If you just need a drill and a driver then pick your favorite.

As a contractor I switched from Makita to Dewalt. Why? I was really impressed with the batteries and charging station. I normally go with the XR line brushless with four hour batteries. Not sure about this year but normally Black Friday is a great time to get deals.

I have a bunch of makita, I like them. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the big brands.

If you want to spend a lot of money look into hilti, all we use art work very heavy duty and the warranty is great. You will pay a premium price though.

I prefer Milwaukee M12, but have friends who have both Makita and Dewalt. They all hold up well.

Milwaukee soured me on their CORDED drills. Burned a couple up and warranty service was terrible. Their cordless tools are no doubt really good, but I could not get passed that. I have a few of their tools - specialty tools like the copper pipe and tube cutter, and it has been a work horse.

I had Makita, and I like their stuff.

But for my home construction, projects, etc I have pretty much gone all in for "20V" DeWalt. Gets bad mouthed by large mouth pros with regularity, gets abused by people saying it's not really 20V, and so on. Don't care. It works. I've not a tool fail. I do recommend against the larger cordless nailers but the brad nailer and the staple gun works great. The 6 1/2" and the 4 1/2" cordless saws are awesome.

I just picked up a DeWalt Atomic 1/2" drill from HD. I like it a lot.

On the topic of batteries - keep them cool, don't store them fully charged, and swap to a new one as soon as you notice any decrease in power. They'll live a lot longer that way.
