When you finally get a warm day to work on your truck and it starts pouring, and are determined to finish a winch control box relocation that has been dragging on for far too long, and dont have a garage.

My makeshift shop today in the back yard, under the deck. Taking advantage of the wife and little one being gone for a couple hours.

I lucked out, I was able to get some wrenching done this morning before the weather rolled in.

I think I found the source of the exhaust leaking into my cab! We’ll see if I smell anything on my way to work tomorrow

I think one of my TPMS sensors went. Tires are all at recommended pressure..when I fire the engine the light blinks for 30 or so seconds and then solid. Pressing the button does nothing.

I'm hoping a tire shop can isolate the sensor or is this a Toyota only thing?

How long til you need new shoes? I’d just wait until then if it were me. I have that light on my dash lit up pretty much 100% of the time because the truck’s set point is so damn high.

Last did the brakes and all new tires October 19 for my sticker, so not like I have to bring it in anytime soon for something else.

So I made bad decisions. Last weekend you did my frame. This weekend I went wheeling.

    :mudding:

It was sad not being able to bomb through mud puddles.

    Beers in Maine.

@MurderedTacoV2 did you get home all right? I didn’t know what route I was taking apparently I took 89 down to 3 instead.

I bought a cheap battery tester off Amazon. It works great. As I suspected, the girlfriend's CX5 battery isn't too healthy. Just picked up a DieHard Gold for it--hopefully it's as good as the DieHards I used to have.

The ATV battery also failed, only came out to 180-something CCAs. I kind of thought that too, it seems weak sometimes. I'm not going to worry about that one, though, since I mounted the maintainer under the seat and will keep it plugged in this winter.

It seems like it's reasonably accurate--my truck battery and lawn tractor battery-both new in the spring-tested just barely under the CCA rating. This new DieHard tested a little over its rating. Should be a handy tool to have on hand!

Not bad not bad. Might think of one that does the alternator as well. I don't have a short term need as both the trucks have batteries 18 months old and my only other device using one is the tractor, so I'd probably get more from one also able to test the alternator.

I think auto zone Reilly’s have those and will test your batteries for free.

I mostly wanted it for the small engine stuff. I also tend to get paranoid and think something is cranking over slow and it's nice to be able to see if the battery is pulling its weight or not without leaving the house. In the case of the CX5, I was right, it was cranking slow because the battery was putting out fewer amps than the one in the lawn tractor.

I’ve never been but I’m sure they’d test any battery you bring in :notsure:

not a super expensive tool anyhow. I have a Bluetooth obd reader that I’ve “needed” a total of one time. I’ve used it a ton but just for gimmicks otherwise.

I'm sure but then I have to pull it and drive there. The stores closest to me have pretty limited hours too.

Well discovered this today... going to see if I can find a dealer willing to do the frame recall despite being beyond the 12 year recall limit.
If not I'm not too sure what I'm going to do or what my options are. With the new house and everything this truck issue is the last thing I need.

That's the same area I'm afraid of. Mine definitely doesn't look that bad though!

My neighbor and I finally got that mysterious Adirondack buck after three years. Only took 1 shot in those three years. It was awesome to track in up to a 2000’ peak and find “his” mountain in deep, deep public ground woods

Bruh.. You just need a new dealer to go to...

Come on up here if it isn't too far out of your way. I'll take care of your truck woes. Ford will do the rest of the work, disappointing you with parts backorders and delivery times!
    OH NOOOO :pout:

I'd see if a welding shop could patch that for you.

Finished the winch control box install yesterday. Won this winch in a raffle last year at the toyota takeover at Rausch Creek. Its was sitting in my basement for the last year until my wife surprised me on fathers day by ordering me the relentless bumper I wanted.

The bumper went on in September along with new suspension to handle the added weight, and get some more clearance.

The control box wouldnt fit in its mounting location on the winch so I made a mount for the engine bay and made longer leads from the box to the winch. I will probably have to move this to the other side, where people mount their compressors, when it comes time to add some power distribution. For now, this was the easiest and quickest for me to get it running.
