One of my direct co-workers and best friends does BJJ with a guy who just tested positive for COVID, my buddy is pending results, if he pops I gotta get tested as we work in close proximity. Apparently work has no problem working me like a mule until he gets his results back as I'm the only fully certed guy for FRC tonight.

 

The only place I have been to on the east is Sugar and Beech Mountain in NC

They know you have a 99.6% survival rate......so they're chancing it

 

Off but awake because I fell asleep at like 730 after putting the kids to bed...

I ordered a "new" keyboard. Let's see how that goes.

I'm mentally prepared to buy a new laptop in the case I ruin the ribbon or something trying this transplant

Just watching last nights North Woods Law. Fish and game cops in NH.

 

Generally they're not *too* hard to replace depending on model, I always try to find a tear down video before going at it if I can.

Some models have a "keyboard" symbol as part of the molding on the bottom of the casement that marks all the keyboard screws and you don't even need to split the case open to replace the board.

A lot of times the CMOS battery is under the keyboard, replace that too while you're there.

 

Yeah I looked for videos. Found a similar model and kinda get it. Mine is a Lifebook T726. The video I watched was slightly different but similar. I think there are 2 screws on the bottom (accessible without removing anything) that come out and allow the board to be removed. I think you can also get at the ribbon plug from the top.

I tried to break it down part way to see what I was getting into. It looks like what I ordered doesn't include the backlight pad so I'm not too sure how that goes. Oh well. I'll figure it out or break it

 

What color did you go with?

I've seen bits and pieces of that while in the breakroom......I believe. The one I saw the guys were giving a fine to a kid for riding a 4wheeler on the road.
