Threw this on today. Takes about 20 minutes and worth every penny. Very clean install once in.

Damn. Just found this thread and missed the sale. Going to have to wait a bit

I have never installed a winch or power to it. How complicated of an install is it? Is it basically just running the winch power the the blue sea in the bracket then wires from there to battery terminal?

Yes. Super easy. Power to switch. Switch to winch.
The hardest part is pulling the Toyota beep thing off lol

Where’d you get those battery cable ends, and what’s you have to do put a loop on your Toyota oem harness to mount on one of those studs?

    Those are SDHQ battery terminals.

Finally finished the install. I was dragging my feet on mounting the control box in the engine bay, since it wouldn’t fit on the mounting location on the winch itself. That involved making and installing new, longer leads from the control box to the winch, and making a bracket to mount the box. Although it wasn't overly difficult, it has been a challenge balancing free time being a new dad.

Also check out the Remy Battery web site. They sell the military battery terminals for $4 each and also sell the screw on compression lugs for about $5 each and any shrink wrap you need plus protection boots. Not same terminals as SDHQ but gets the job done. Search Military Battery Terminal on Amazon and you’ll find other sellers, but Remy is only place I found that has the screw on compression lugs terminals

Good looking install, but how are you doing the ground wire from winch? Most people run that back to the negative battery terminal so surprised not to see it in your photos

Kind of a crappy photo, best I can do with it being dark. I pulled the bolt from the ground wire to the body and connected at that point.

Thanks for the feedback man, looks awesome!

Yes sir, you got it! The switch is ran inline the winches 12V+ cable.

That beeper is a pain isnt it

It all looks great! Love the location of the control box! That is unless you were planning on adding an accessory panel with a fuse block on it down the road, thats generally where I've seen those mounted

Same way I have my ground ran as well, haven't had a single issue with mine at all!

Finally caught up with all the orders after this crazy weekend! Y'all almost cleaned me out!! Looks like the next batch will be coming sooner than I anticipated! And maybe I'll implement @cubie idea of an "Oh Sh*t Switch" cutout style:rolleyes:

I did realize this morning that I did make a little oopsy. In my haste, I unknowingly moved some of my stock (switches, wiring) to my new house this weekend(4 hours away) and unfortunately will not have time to get my hands on it until this weekend. A HUGE apology to those that have ordered for the delay, but as soon as I get over there, all paid for kits will be heading out the door! Expect them to be headed your way no later than next Monday, 11/9. Your patience is greatly appreciated!

Current Winch Switch Bracket Inventory (11/9/20)
    Blank - 1
    TRD - 4
    X2O - 0
    XRC - 2
    Winch Power - 0

    Looks killer Casey!!

As a slight optional installation note to clean up the power wire, there is actually just enough room and length for the wire to come through the original battery boot to allow for a cleaner install!
