I will try, take off the shifter tmrw and give it a go. Saw something in a FJ forum about the shift rods being misaligned..

Will it physically not shift? Or is it shifting place but not in low gear?

I have a (Modified) FJ clutch pedal, they're steel not plasteeik.

I like the Dog leg gear shift, my 4Runner had one and I never much cared for the stock straight stick. Actually used my 3rd gen 4Runner stick 9n my Tacoma until I got the Core short Shifter, need to make me a dog leg rod for it as I dislike the chromed straight hurst stick.

I need to do my FJ case mods too...

Physically, it was doing 9t on the test run out of the truck. Then put back together all good. Still did it. Thought some force might slide it in to gear. No go...

    It was doing what?

Out of the truck could you physically move the shifter through it's full range of motion or not?

Does the H/N/L rail move through it's full range of motion?

Sounds like your only option will be to pull it and crack it open. Mine was able to smoothly shift outside of the truck, in a good case there will be nothing to resist the movement except a small detent that has not much holding power.

Nope, I just made connections from tcase and connected them straight to the instrument cluster. Everything works as should.

You can save yourself a little trouble by splicing the connectors to your 4wd ECU so that you don't have to run new wires all the way from the case and pull the gauge cluster, but that's entirely up to you. I can't promise your colors will be the same, but the pin positions should be. Test with a multmeter before you start cutting wires.

The right rod will not go all the way back.

I ran into the same issue. The rods are made so the left one has to be in the right orientation for the left one to go back up. Make sure the truck is in neutral when trying to shift the rods.

Put the shifter back in and turn truck on and try to move it.
