I changed my oil yesterday and while I was under my truck, I noticed a cable hanging down midway towards the front under roughly the center console. The bolt that was holding it in was sheered off. I ended up ghetto-rigging it to reattach to the under carriage by zip ties and washer, but would like to know what system it’s part of.

I’m guessing it’s a brake line since it splits into 2 lines halfway down the truck and then into each rear tire. Am I right?

I believe that's your parking brake cable.

I must have skipped right over your comment about the sheared bolt.

Actually. Looking again. You have an auto trans? That might be the shifter cable.

It should not be hanging down under the driveshaft. Looks like from the wear mark on the cable that it was originally riding on top of the driveshaft. There are two bolts that hold it on; re-route the cable and replace the bolts.
CORRECTION: Agree it looks routed correctly.

That's the transmission shift cable. It's routed correctly. It's just hanging down because the stud broke. From looking at TnShooters pic, it looks like there's 2 studs, but only 1 of them has a nut on it. Maybe it's possible to bolt it up using the other stud.

The other one looks to be threaded.
    Dial caliper reads 6mm.
I don’t know the pitch. The stud on both look sketchy AF. Take it easy. I’d recommend running a die over it first if possible.
