Built this PC over winter for photo editing, light video editing. Would like to start gaming now that I've respectable enough internet to do so. Will I have enough performance to get my feet wet?

Absolutely, I ran the R5 2600 before I bent a pin and got a 3600 as replacement, im currently running an ROG 8GB RX580 and the only two games that I see less than optimal performance are Xplane 11 and the new Flight simulator, I’m running triple 1080 monitors for those two games though.
I play AC:Odyssey on mes-high settings and I average around 60 FPS, COD war zone I think I average around 90 FPS.

I also only have 16Gb ram vs your 32GB.

I didn't really know what I was doing. Just did a bit of research and threw some components together. Still a lot to learn.

 

Make sure to say at 1080P or reduce your settings in AAA titles. The RX 580 is your limiting factor.

 

Fixed that for you. The 2011 MBP's had known issues with the on-board video that caused issues with the GPU and logic boards. Despite a mass petition with tens of thousands of people signing that they've had the same problem, Apple never acknowledged an issue. That's when I knew I was done with them for laptops.

S20FE 5G phone here. Amazing phone and much cheaper than the ultra. Same amount of power.

 

Except I was able to buy my phone six months ago and I have a two day battery

The FE is a great phone. The Ultra was definitely an overpriced premium product and I knew that but I like the screen size and battery. Plus the original S20 5G didn't come with mm Wave 5G and I want to keep this phone well into the 5G era.

 

Tuesday was more like Erection Day. 13k Timespy, 1080ti scored just over 6300

Psst...I get 2 days on battery also, without having to drop resolution. lol. If you are looking for MM Wave, which I think is verizon, their phones should be MM wave ready.

 

I'm not looking for anything, I bought my Ultra way back six months ago. Before the FE was even a thought. That's what I'm saying.

I need every mA. Not saying my phone is better but that was my need after my Note 10 kept dying early on the second day. I'm very happy with my S20 Ultra, and again there is nothing wrong with the FE. It's like the iPhone 12 mini versus the 12 Pro. Different strokes (and spending levels) for different folks.
