It's true... some of the shit I do makes even myself think "dude, that's sus as shit.. what's your problem?"

 

Love the quote. I was a bit too young to be officially part of the Beat generation. Though everybody, I was around growing up was in some way or another a Beatnik. I inherited the attitude. It's more of a state of mind thing. Beatniks felt like Hippies ripped off their movement and didn't like it.

 

Like these damn hipsters stealing my artisanal way of life!

There were so many beautiful and poignant things that trio gave us that has been "lost" because we're a society stuck in the 'out of sight, out of mind' mindset... it's so frustrating to see generation after generation make the same mistake in different ways because no one seems to want to learn from history. Anything that can be done has already been done in one fashion or another, but youth still feels the need to stick their finger in the proverbial electrical socket because how do you really know it hurts if you don't experience it yourself? Makes me think of this quote

Fuck I just got some really shitty news

Good friend of mine (don't consider many people my friend either) just called me to say he has cancer...it's spreading and it's bad.

 

I won't 'like' that post.. but I feel for you cancer is a horrible beast. If he wants to fight it, i hope he can beat it
