Any Details on the crossbar and mounting parts used? I have snugtop with Yakima tracks and trying to mount my rtt to it but I want it to sit low as possible like yours looks.

I made my own mount with the hardware you see because I wanted the rtt to sit at low as possible, be a stronger mount, and cost less. I believe I accomplished all three objectives. The additional cost was more time to design & build. Go to 8020.net to learn more about the hardware I used, although I purchased mine from McMaster Carr. Engineers use this stuff all the time to build custom structures etc for their needs. It takes me about 10mins to mount or remove the rtt. If you decide to go this route, I can take additional photos for you if you want.

I'm close to finally pulling the trigger on a RTT... has anyone noticed any changes in quality from Tepui after Thule took over?

where do you guys store your tent in the winter? i have a car port that should keep the snow out that i was going to put my rack and tent in. no garage so unfortunately it cant go inside. there shouldnt be an issue with it sitting outside under a cover through winter right? should i get one of those mattress plastic bags and cover the whole thing?

I take the mattress out and put it in one of those plastic mattress bags that way bugs/mice don't get in it and tear it up. I usually toss the mattress in the garage or in our attic for the winter. Then I close up the tent and previously put it in a storage locker at the local lock and store. As long as its out of the elements it should be fine. They are built to be outside quite a bit so just make sure you toss an extra tarp over it if it has to sit uncovered all winter and strap the tarp down good so it doesnt flap in the wind. They are like sandpaper if not strapped down. I would also get it up off the ground like sticking it on blocks/saw horses so rodents are less likely to make a nest in it.

Under a carport should be fine. Probably a good idea to cover it or put it in a bag. If you seal it in a bag, just make sure it is completely dry first.

Those are my goals also! I checked out the website. Prices seem great. Would you be able to post more pics and if possible a list of hardware and parts used? Thanks.

Sorry, I don't have any links or a parts list, but i can tell you most of what I used. The 2 cross bars are 1.5 X 1.5 inch by 48 inches long (already cut to length). I used M8X1.25 for all mounting hardware. I recommend using a longer, double hole threaded T-Nut for the tracks on the shell (where my finger is pointing) for more engagement/strength in the thin aluminum track. I only use one of the threaded holes to attach it tho. I had to enlarge the holes in the 4 plates where the tie downs go thru.
Like I said, it does take a bit of time to purchase o_O & first time install :sawzall: It's Not for everybody.
    IMG_1825.jpg IMG_1826.jpg IMG_1827.jpg IMG_1828.jpg IMG_1829.jpgSingle hole T-Nuts. Work fine in cross bars.
