I don't understand anything going on here. My truck knowledge pretty much starts and ends with truck has 4 wheels and motor but I'll try to pop in and out with unrelated musings

Did you pull the axle shafts out yet? Are they 35-spline?

if i can remember correctly there all 35 spline inners. my 79 dodge 1 ton 60 had 30spline outters and my 77 ford dana 60 had 30 spline outters as well both were king pin. My guess is this ford axle is probably the same..

    correcrtion hear.

nice score and someone has done their homework.
    40 spline shafts....

just hope there not neck down

All Dana 60s starting from 2005+ are 35 inners and 35 outers, before 2005 it was 35 inner and 30 outer.

The shafts look fine so far, going to do tear down this weekend and see more inside. Then cutting and cleaning housing and prepping for welding.

I feel you. When I first joined TW it felt like decoding cryptic messages with all the acronyms, inside-jokes and people yammering on about stuff only they fully understand.
If you stick through you will start to make sense of it all. if you don't then you will probably save yourself a lot of money.

    Better ergo and day-to-day convenience:
    • Pushbutton start means no key to jab into my knee (AT only)
    • Convenient touch-handle lock/unlock
    • More intuitive AT shift gate
    • Center console E-brake lever
    • Quicker heated air on cold days
    • Damped tailgate
    Useful tech features:
    • Adaptive cruise and lane departure alert for the multi-hour drives to and from the trail - both function at night - this also means large animals outside headlight range are detected.
    • Night vision in the backup camera
    • Better headlights
    • Inclinometer in the dash screen
    • Multi-Terrain Select (AT) which is A-Trac with adjustable slip ratio
And of course 42 more hp if you keep the revs up.

I'll add that it also looks better. Because we all know that looks matter.
