can anyone take a measurement of mounted hieght of 285/75/17's?
I purchased 285/70 ridge grapplers a few months back but with the wheeling I'm doing now I need more clearance. it's either 285/75 or the 315. It seems to be a minimal difference between the two sizes. Im trying to find the hieght difference between the two sizes while mounted. I'd appreciate it if anyone could chime in

Thank-you! man I was hopingnit would at least measured just above 33 in. I read somewhere else 315's measures 3.5 in on a 17x9 rim. what size wheels are you running? maybe I'll get a little more height since I'm only running 17x7 wheels.

thank you buddy, I appreciate it. I might stick with this size. not sure if .5 inches would be worth the amount of work to fit 315's. There is always the 35x10.5 Kendas, but just can't wrap my head around that tire, not sure if it's the look or how skinny it is.

it's already skinny as is, and on my 7 in wide rim, it might look even worse lol. the BS is 4.5.
I just don't want to end up buying 3 sets of tires in 3 months if I cant get over how it looks.

I just had these put on yesterday. 285 75 16. They seem a lot skinnier than my previous tires of the same size. When I pulled away from the shop I was dumbfounded by how smooth they road. I had to get out and make sure they put the right tires on. With only about 10 miles on them I can’t give a good review, but they look mean as hell and the ride is as smooth as the highway tires on my work van. I wish they were a little wider, but I’ll get over it. They do rub a little on the passenger side in reverse, but I’ll work that out this weekend.

They claim 8% better tread wear than the competitors, what mileage does that actually mean before they need replacing? Around 40K? Im at 55K with my Duratracs and there’s another 10K left with these.

Here’s a pic bc threads are worthless without em:D

Took a road trip out to Utah- on the way I went off-roading in some sand/dirt/rocks and they again had no issue, great traction. On my trip home I drove through torrential downpour going 65-80 mpgs through a twisty turny mountain pass with standing water on the road, no hydroplaning or any signs of slipping . Need to test snow but so far they’ve been awesome still (7000 miles in roughly )

I’m interested in that size as well. I like that it’s a 6ply c rated.

I'm still trying to figure out why tire manufacturers offer 17's in C-Load but in 16's they always have E-Load

Just got a set installed last night, had rain and snow this morning. Felt the same as the ridgegrapplers they replaced. I was pretty surprised.

What air pressure is everyone running in these? When mine were installed I checked them and they were about 37 lbs and I was bouncing all over the road. I lowered them to the recommended pressure on the door frame (29 front 32 rear) and they don’t bounce anymore, but they are louder with the shoulders firmly on the road.
