I had something similar happen in my 1st gen going to my old companies regional office in Freeport, ME one winter. Fortunately there were snow banks lining the roads and my first gen had sliders, front and rear bumpers so I just bounced off the snow banks and kept going. And it was like 530AM so no-one was on the road or else I probably would have side-swiped someone. Just driving along at normal speeds, hit some black ice and immediately the rear end tried to become the front. Definitely a code brown moment.

What'd you get? I still have to swap my wife's over. I'll likely do that over Thanksgiving weekend.

I haven't swapped mine, either. I was going to this coming weekend, but now it's supposed to be in the 60s so I'll wait longer. I don't want to chew them up on warm days.

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well the OEM Hankook Dynapro AT2s did in the snow and slush this morning.

yeah we're almost at beach weather down in RI! After tonight, not below freezing through Nov 17 according to the weather channel. I have self hatred I guess because I just looked at the Austin forecast, sunny and 80. Boating weather!

I did notice over last weekend, the diesel doesn't warm up nearly as quick as a gas engine so defrosting the windows takes a lot more work!

3rd gen short bed, so it would work, and i will keep you in mind, a drive to RI is way shorter than NC. Makes it doable in a weekend easy.

The WR G4's for the wife's Camry. We had the 1st gen WR'S on the wife's focus and she loved them. Hopefully these are as good as the other set was.

Was definitely code brown! I knew if I fucked up I was either going in the river or getting T-boned by oncoming traffic. Luckily tires seem good, just some scuffing. Going to take it for a drive during lunch and give everything a once over to make sure there's no issues but don't think I hit the curb hard enough to cause a problem. Let's just say the workout I just finished at work was fueled almost purely by adrenaline!

Someone left theirs on their roof, I assume, and it kamikazeed into my driveway. It's resting on the utility pole at the end of my driveway if you want it. :D

Weekend? You're near Saco right? Its like 2 hours :p I'll keep you posted if I end up calling that trip off, but it would be Dec 26 - Jan 3 or so, so it would have to be able to be picked up then anyway.

I'd like the girlfriend to get those for her CX5. She's running on whatever all seasons it had on it when she bought it. I'd feel better if she had a more snow-oriented tire.

I'm selling the studded snows from my wife's Escape. They're on CL now, they might be the same size for the CX-5. If you have any interest, let me know. They're still in very good shape but they're on Ford wheels now.

Thanks, but I already lost the second set idea--she doesn't see the need enough to want to do it. I think I'm mostly likely stuck waiting until her all seasons wear out.
