When you go LT then stuff changes shock relocation different LCAs which allows those crazy 14-20 inch shock travel that’s when the extended lines come into play. I was flexed all kinds of ways today and all is well. But good thought for sure.

Sooo...I had a Bilstein 6112/5160 with Ironman constant load leaf packs installed today thinking I’d get 2” front and 3-4” of lift in the rear to get my rake back...I got 6-7” of lift LMAO :bananadead:

Went from 20” all around to 22” front and 26” and 27” rear. Stink bugging like a MF.

Going to pull the 3rd leaf and probably the overload. Just a PSA for anyone on the fence between Performance and Constant like I was...

For reference, my constant ‘unloaded’ weight is a shell (150lbs), platform (~100lbs), rack (~50lbs), gears/tools in the bed (50-75lbs), 3 steel skids (~120 total maybe), and sliders (~150lbs) on a 3rd gen ACLB.

No, I probably won’t post photos because I can’t stop laughing long enough when I see my truck now to take a photo.

Wow, that’s a lot of lift. I’ll still wait for pics lol.
I’m surprised the shop that put those in didn’t question it, maybe they were laughing too. Good luck getting the extra leaf out of there!

I just ordered my kit yesterday. Constant load up front, Performance load in the back.
OP I have a similar rear setup.

Oh trust me, we were all laughing lol. He’s going to pull them for me once I have some time to swing by, need my down travel back. At least I’ll have a free AAL and overload for the same price, in case I ever decide to install a 4-story drop-in camper. Honestly not even sure that would be enough to get my rear back down to normal.

I think you made the right choice. Great looking rig btw.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Their estimates seem to be a little off. For the leaf springs I got for my frontier they said the lift was one and a half inches and it was most definitely three. And my truck is new so it's not like the leaf springs were sagging before the new ones were put on.

Agreed, estimates are very off. Sounds like you’ve got more rake than you bargained for too? I prefer a little rake, just not 4-5” of it lol.

Not sure how much having an access cab factors in, but 6-7” of lift still seems absurd when I’m not too far from the weight rating. The overall ride quality is still surprisingly good compared to stock though.

Lol. Yeah, it's not as extreme as your case, but come spring I think I'm going to lift the front just a little more.

Ended up pulling 2 leaves from each side of the constant loads. Net result afterwards is 4.5” in the back which still seems tall for removing 2 leaves. Might contact Ironman to see what’s going on - happy with the end stance though and for getting some down travel back. Before, middle, end:

For reference, this is the crazy lift I got in the back with the constants before pulling anything - sitting on pavement and almost topped out:

Your results have me NERVOUS! Which two leafs did you pull out? 3rd from top and overload? I already pulled 3rd from top, but really don't want to have to take them apart again. Would be really curious if IronMan had an explanation for you! Looks good now though!!

    Ok. Update....

I got new tires and rims today and the ride 14 miles from the shop to my house was SOOOOOOOOOO much better.... no vibe at all.... took bumps much better then when the lift was first put on... I honestly wasn’t pleased with the way the lift performed after I put it on (9/4) but after new tires man so far the right is SOOOO nice.

I was only expecting an inch, maybe 2, more than the Performance springs and was blown away when I got 6-7” total. Ironman recommended pulling the 3rd leaf and 4th if needed. I told my mechanic that but also said I trust his judgement - would have to check. After pulling 2 leaves we realized the bolt provided wasn’t fully threaded either, so he had to add some thread to make it work - just FYI.

I’ve still got 2” of rake (was shooting for 1”). The last photo in that collage I posted earlier auto straightened - here’s how she actually stands now:

    C0217CE9-9F3C-4704-AFDF-47DD4A7B6146.jpg

Part numbers were correct, so not sure if I just got a freak pack or what. Will let you know if I’m able to sort it out with Ironman - visiting their office this week.

I was thinking of a carrier bearing drop kit myself but glad your vibes worked out.

If you’re willing to sell either one of your leaves I’m interested on buying I got the performance load leaves but really wanted the constant for all my weight

So I stopped by Ironman to have them look at my rear (phrasing), they said that my height was normal even with 2 leaves pulled. Live and learn I guess. If you're running the same weight or less than I do, I would exchange it for the Performance springs if it's not too late and do an AAL later if needed. If not, my guy pulled the 5th and 6th leaves from the top for reference (above the overload). Ironman said that was fine after taking a look.

I'll let you know if I think of selling - will hang on to at least one leaf in case I go crazy with my build.

    @oakcity
"I’m not sure it was a different pack, I also got the constant front and rear and someone here at the beginning of this thread posted how theirs looked with constant and it was funny too. They pulled the 3rd leaf and it settled down. Based on that I pulled mine before I installed it and the end result is like yours. I don’t have all the things yet for my truck that would justify constant in the rear. I believe the IM springs and leafs have a higher load rating than OME too"

^Yeah, they're rated 440lbs-GVM for an estimated 2" of lift - I've read this whole thread and knew I'd be a little under 440lbs and was expecting more than 2" based on what I've seen and after calling a few dealers, but not 7". They're really nice guys, but I just have a hard time believing that if I threw an extra 50-100lbs in my bed to hit that 440lb mark that I would be anywhere near 2" lol. Pulling 2 leaves still netted me 4.5". I recommended they reach out to their dealers and let them know to not provide estimates of 3" but 6"-7" for the Constants for people at/close to the lower end of that range.

Just hope this experience helps someone in the future :notsure:

Awesome man yeah I think I would only need one leaf to bring up and have no take at all I’m adding a rear bumper so now MORE rake :bananadead:
