Anyone looking to sell their setup? I'm interested if you are looking to sell your Tacoma or go back to stock. I could even sell you back (if you no longer have it) the OEM radio unit out of my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport (non-JBL).

For those of you that have plugged in the factory GPS to the Pioneer unit, how is the accuracy / speed? Have you ran into any issues?

Mine is plugged in with the attachment cable and it is very slow / inaccurate. For example, in "Maps" on CarPlay it can't even determine my location to greater accuracy than about 500-1000 ft. "Google Maps" is similar. When using Google Maps for navigating it's very behind to the point of almost being useless.

I unplugged the cable while on and the head unit recognizes no GPS so I know it's the correct cable and it's being recognized. And I've checked the settings in System Info and it says GPS is attached. But in one row it shows images of a red and yellow satellite. Most of the time the numbers next to them both are "0".

Mine works perfectly fine without any issue. But you might want to check if you had plugged into the Sirus Connector instead of the GPS connector. They look and fit exactly the same but in a different colors.

Do you know which is which? (I know one is black and the other is white)

I believe I plugged into the black-colored connector. When I unplugged the cable the head unit recognized no GPS and it also says GPS is connected in the settings menu as well. I'm assuming I connected to correct one then unless the head unit just knows something is plugged in but can't distinguish between the XM and GPS cables.

Edit: I searched earlier but did another and found someone mentioned the GPS is the white one from the truck. I'll have to remove and double check my connections.

That was it. To confirm, coming from the truck, the GPS antenna cable is the one with the white plug and the XM antenna cable has the black plug end.

Really like this head unit overall. This thread was super helpful. Especially with modifying the oem bracket to get a flush fit.

You will use just one of those adapters for GPS (assuming you aren't also installing an XM radio tuner). It's the one with the light green end in the Amazon photo. It plugs into the back of the pioneer unit. From the truck, you plug the adapter to the GPS cable (which has a white end). There should only be two cables from the truck, the xm and gps cables, that will fit the adapter. Just make sure you plug into the white one.

Thanks for the info. I was reading all the idatalink instructions and nowhere does it show those two cables or how to connect them in the directions. So the other cable won't allow the OEM XM tuner to work with the Pioneer unit? For some reason I was thinking it would.

The third cable in the package is for a pioneer XM tuner to the OEM antenna.

So everything seems to work except my steering wheel controls. I've flashed the unit twice, once with custom controls I made and a 2nd time with the default controls it recommended. Anyone have an idea why my steering wheel controls aren't working?

Here's a few pictures of the rats nest of wires.

Mine did that the first time. Double check your serial number is input correctly. I think I had a O mixed up with a 0.

My Pioneer serial number has 4 letters/numbers like that. I didn't realize an incorrect serial number could be so finicky. Let me try again, thanks for the information.

I must have been putting in the right Pioneer serial number all along. The weblink app wouldn't even let me proceed when I had an incorrect serial number. Flashed it a 3rd time and my steering wheel controls still don't work. Not sure what else to do at this point.
