Anyone get more vibration between about 2000-2400 rpms, especially with more load? Happens stock and tuned.

    Enhanced Skinny Pedal
    Started with 2.0 thx.

Increased accelerator request to airload about 25% for the first half of the table, about 20% for the second half. Then did some minor smoothing from there. It is similar to but slightly less aggressive than 04A61 translations of your tune I’ve looked at.

Increased low accelerator pedal shift points.

Decreased mid pedal 3-4 downshift to hold 4th gear a bit longer when highway passing.

Increased gear 1 and 2 throttle limits at low accel pedal. Gear 2 matches gear 3, gear 1 is upped about halfway to gear 3.

Implemented gear lock by ECT button.

No other changes. I’ve been meaning to post up my tune, but it is really very similar to other tunes that have been posted.

looking through vftuner to keep torque converter locked in S5 (5th gear) around 50mph and up with no unlock. should i be looking to modify tables. (torque converter locking 5th gear 5) and (torque converter unlocking 5th gear 5) ? i believe 6th gear the tc is fully locked. values of both those (unlock 6th gear 6 and lock 6th gear 6) tables for 6th gear are all 255.99 across the board. maybe mirror those values into 5th gear tables?

Pretty much had this from the day I brought the truck, although since time went on its not as bad as when the truck was new. Not sure its a tunable thing since Toyota never admitted what the problem is. Two prevailing theories were akinsmode+intake and torque converter.

If you are talking about your rear window slider, I think you have the wrong thread?

But, check out car-part.com . It searches salvage yards.

It doesn't look like you're on 04B04 so I cant speak to the table numbers specifically but what you'll want to do is modify the locking 5th gear maps so that it is 59 (yes 59) across the board. IF you want it to lock sooner at lower pedal than just drop the first couple cells back down but regardless of pedal it'll lock at 50. To make sure it never unlocks you modify the unlock tables so that they are a value below 59. The unlock tables seem to supersede the lock tables so if you have an overlap than it will stay unlocked rather than lock.

As a side note, once you let off the pedal it unlocks. With this map if you get back on the pedal above 50 it will stay unlocked for a second or two before locking up again.

I agree that kicking on ETC at a stop and then letting the truck do its thing with those shift points would likely be less than optimal. By choosing those values I have to keep in mind that I am in control, much like a MT. I did a 700 mile road trip over the weekend, towing our trailer and loaded with bikes. Generally, I'd run in normal mode and mostly with CC. For a few big climbs I'd use the GL functionality. It is spot-on for the times when 3rd will accelerate, but 4th loses speed. Lock it into 3rd and just go.

I think I saw that none of the current maps we have to work with control the cruise control shifting. When that releases it will be nice to get those dialed in.

@cheesehomer , how’s the @Mooseditty17 tune (Jim.Reg_Perf+Tow) working out for you? You like it? Anything you’d change or add?

I'm just wondering if it may be the exhaust angles, because I remember Mat talking about those before and how there was some overlap. I see the maps in vF to change it, but until we get some more info about it, I don't feel comfortable messing with them.

All that I know is that Ducatis used to sound glorious with 45deg of overlap and sound like trash at 11deg. I wonder . . .

@Mooseditty17 made the tune for my ECU, 04A61, and I posted the tune at the request of @cheesehomer . I was just wondering how it was working for him.

Did you want me to post it so you can take a look at it? Compare the two in vFT?

So I finally got around to loading the VFTuner.. I previously had the flash kit and I'm running the 2.0 Tune from OVT.

My question is, is its possible to add the AGM settings to the 2.0 file from OVT that I'm currently running? The VFT Software won't load the file type that I flashed with the P5F

Or do I need to request OVT To send me that file in the Vft file format??

    Hope thats understandable.

    Best,

    John

You need to message zendesk and request the tune pack

If you need to edit a tune file it has to be .vft format

So just got back from the lil trip, and here's the results: On a fresh tank of 93oct and a fresh flash of Mild+Wild, I got (and these are after accounting for tire size) 16.1 mpg on the 90 mile trip there, and 19.3 mpg on the way back, all highway miles except maybe 5 miles total on the surface streets. I assume the improvement coming home is likely due to the truck's learning settling in. I can safely say the way back is the highest mpg's I've seen like ever in that truck, since it was stock.

I have yet to play with the Wild mode, since I didn't want to invalidate the data, but I assume I'll see a good (and fun) drop in mpgs :)

Great work, @Mooseditty17 , this might be the tune I branch off, since I really like the idea of having two very distinct modes for different purposes. Only 6 more days till the 5.29 gears go on, so it'll be fun seeing what (other than the obvious gear maps) will need to be tweaked to maximize the new ratios!
