I have a 2016 SR. I have a RC leveling kit now. But I want to upgrade suspension. It’s my daily driver. I rarely go off road more than just light trails but am slowly adding a little weight. Looking for advice for a nice ride and that lasts. FBEFD265-C2E8-42E7-9411-53CE588E7E86.jpg

There are a ton of threads to read, but I would say a rear Add-A-Leaf from either Wheelers or OME, should give you about 1-1.5" lift in the rear depending on weight and will help reduce sag with additional weight. Shocks is whatever is in your budget. 2" or lower in the front will let you keep stock UCA's. just head to toytec lifts or headstrong offroad and find front and rear shocks in your budget. I have 5100s but plan on upgrading soon. Hope this helps

5100’s all around 2” front 1.5” aal Spc upper control arms. Imo great budget lift. Eibach is a kit members like as well. Daily driver and light trails and using like a truck great set up.
    Good luck OP

2.5" pistons will make a measurable difference for on road and off road ride.

Most 2.5" piston shocks are very expensive like $2000.

The Bilstein 6112 are less than half that. Paired with 5160s in rear and an AAL and you have a 2" rear lift, front 2.5" lift and you can probably DIY.

Shocks are rebuildable which may matter to you.

"Daily driver... rarely off-road... nice ride that lasts"

The truck was built exactly for what you do with it to be comfortable and efficient. Why would you change anything?

If you will not be doing any off roading and using it solely for driving purposes or the occasional dirt road or off the beaten path 2x a year, than a $160 wheelers AAL will raise your rear end 1.5" and will reduce axle wrap, aid with sag, and will allow you to carry more in the bed. It is also progressive and is a 3 leaf pack AAL and is EXTREMELY smooth.

For shocks, you can get several replacements depending on how much money you want to spend. Bilstein 5100's provide lift. EMU shocks are decent and provide lift (I believe). If you want to spend more, King and Fox make OEM shocks with no lift for the front. Fox also makes the 2.0 front and rear for like 750? Which is basically like, just $300 more than regular shocks all around with imo, better ride quality.
If you want something that requires no maintenance and lasts, go 5100 or EMU.

Bilstein does have way more affordable 2.5's as he mentioned. So does EMU (rebuildable and are half the price of Fox King ICON ADS.

For your weight issue, whatever you go with, get 650 lb springs (but why are you adding weight if youre never off road or camping or anything).

yeah true, a new leaf pack is good. but way more expensive AND ruins ride quality. ends up WAY stiffer (unless he adds more weight like he said)

The truck feels more full to me. Since I drive with my bed rack and rtt on. hate the empty bed feeling

I’ve never had a complaint about my 5100s on all 4 corners. Cheap and cheerful, and the result of decades of engineering and tuning. Even better, when the get worn, slap on another set, for less than the cost of some shocks new.

I did not like the stock ride of my truck, so keeping the factory shocks wasn’t something I considered. The SR OEM shocks may ride better than the OR.

If you are mostly on the pavement then i think u would be happy with bilstein 5100’s and your stock springs. Decent quality lift flr your purposes.

Depends on the tongue weight of the trailer and it could be different between the boat and 4-wheelers. You could get a ballpark idea but measuring how much it sags with the trailer/load on it and go from there. Searching first in the forum for your truck (1st gen) is a good place to start.
