Toyota’s trailer at SEMA

If it weren't insanely priced, I'd probably buy one. I would love a dedicated off-road camper, but I just couldn't justify the cost when it wouldn't be used that often. I think I found a happy medium in mine. It definitely won't be as "finished" as a factory job, but I think it will serve me well.

 

I’m not knocking the full match trailer, when done right it’s kinda badass, also kinda makes you do a double take!

I have very few fabs skills and can't weld......so building from scratch wasn't really an option. If I could weld/fab...….I'd be dangerous with all the stupid shit I can dream up

I think it looks rediculous. Let alone the cost. If the speculated cost above is anything close to the actual cost...do yourself, your wallet and everbody else on the road a favor and buy a real trailor.

I doubt it would ever go into production but it’s definitely got me thinking about what the possibilities of something like this could be. I think instead of doing a trailer why not go crazy and create a modular bed swapping platform. Considering how many people are getting into overlanding camping and wheeling it would be pretty cool to have two separate truck beds. Once set up with all your camping gear and the other empty for hauling whatever or just daily driving. I think that would be kind of cool.

 

This is forward thinking. Create a camper that could be slide in, or replace the box if it is taken off (only 6 bolts). Could be very cool.

 

What size wheels and tires can I fit without rubbing?

 

I'd rather buy a junk bed and build my own. I wouldn't take it off road just need it to haul stuff.
