Got my welder fixed, finished my bumper mods, got the lights wired.

Still haven't got the winch in but I did get it clocked.

I also need to make my front bumper support gussets, bolt on skids 2 and 3, and should be good enough to load up and roll out.

I might have to bring all the winch stuff and bolt it on when I get there, but the welding stuff's got to be done at home, there's not much left to do, I mean there's ALWAYS something else but I'm close to being ready enough for this trip.

Work kinda screwed me, tonight was supposed to be my friday which would have given me a larger window for modding before heading out, but apparently I got some training course I have to do that's on day shift so as I was heading out this morning they were like, oh yeah, don't go to sleep when you get home, come back in at 6 tomorrow morning.

So I did what I could on my half day off today. See if I can squeeze in some more tomorrow evening, get a nap then start the arduous drive.

@ovrlndkull If I plan on camping Saturday night and heading back whenever I feel like it Sunday do I need to reserve my Permit for Sunday, four days?

Or is a three day Thurs-Fri-Sat good to go?

Are they separate? I thought the campsite was part of Windrock.

It is but to wheel you have to get a land use permit. and you purchase based on the # of days you are going to wheel. The camping is separate since you can camp use the RV park etc and never go onto the park itself

Oh I will make it out there.. the company I’m with will determine how hard I get to go as far as trails and wheeling but I absolutely have to see the Rockies, Grand Canyon, red rocks etc. it’s all pretty close once you get that far out there

I never get tired of them. Having seen many parts of the country out there and exploring it brings back the memories and the urge to see more of what I haven't already.

Take a deep breathe trust in your spotter and put the wheels up and go pay attention no distractions just take it easy and slowly. No shame in taking your time.

It's an experience for sure. I have been blessed in my life to make several cross county trips and seeing much of the CONUS. But there is still so much I haven't seen and want to. The best part is these vehicles allow that access that I didn't have before.

That is pictures of the entrance of White Rim in Canyonlands, you have to reserve a spot a few months in advance to ride there. It took @TacoAlaMode and me three days to do that trail, thanks to Brian for getting us access to that trail. Once you start you don't see nothing but trail for three days.

Picture I took before we started the trail, this is White Rim
