Imagine you're on a first date and you go over a bump. You both hear the farting noise. Who farted? Good question.

My personal experience with the Timbrems was that they did exactly what they are designed to do. Until reading this thread I never even thought about junk getting in them or making goofy noises....point being, at least for me it was never an issue. Once I put em on I didn't even know they were back there until I needed em

That's exactly what they're designed to do! Glad to see you are enjoying them and we wish you safe travels no matter where the road takes you.

There is a video by Sumo making the comparison of air bags, Timbrem, & Sumo. Best to watch for yourself.
Rubber bump stops can be harsher.
Someone had Timbren, on the rear of there Tacoma, very hard on the bottom outs, he remove them and found the stock bumps better.

I have the Duro bumps stops, made from rubber type materials too, My first choice was Sumo’s bump stop ,the cost was a factor, I regret this now. Bump stops are important.
There are three levels of Sumo bump stops, yellow, hardest, black then blue.
    Watch Sumo videos!

I see this old thread has been awakened.

Timbren SES are awesome if you sometimes carry heavy weight.

I’ve had Firestone ride rite airbags and Timbren SES. When I needed something for my 1 ton to handle the 4000 lb camper, it was Timbren, hands down. No regrets.

I find air bags super harsh and jarring compared to Timbrens. ** when you’ve got some weight on them.

I have to say , with loads and when unloaded, the Tacoma handles nice. I have not felt any hard bottoms outs.
Even with the 900 lbs of coffee in the long bed, never felt any bottom outs. Coffee land dirt roads, uneven in many places. Some parts are more rocky.

The advertisements from Sumo springs are very convincing. Plus they have 3 ratings? I do not want to buy the wrong ones?
Duro bump stops have only one rating. One size. When you do not notice the hard bottoms out. Means it is working the way they should.
I am now convinced I made the right purchase.

Bumps stop is the last line of defense against the “bottom outs”. Especially after a lift, where there is more space to drop. Best to narrow the space and protect your components.
