The collector on my DT headers was too long by about 4". Had to modify my exhaust to make it fit.

I got my headers about a year ago.

Does anybody know if it's possible to find just the Y-Pipe for the TRD headers these days? I have TRD headers on mine but I need to have the bung on the Y-Pipe redone n maybe would just rather buy just the Y-Pipe.

Supposedly it's harder to find the y pipe than the headers themselves these days

My 1st gen’s PO loved taking the truck to Pismo and didn’t love rinsing the salt and sand off of it nearly as much. It had crusty stuff on it, but after going through it, it’s good as new. Obviously you’re probably more worried about interior, wiring, engine sensors etc.

haha, i thought they seemed pretty expensive too. no idea what these cost brand new though. from what i've read they won't really give you any performance gains unless you are supercharged anyways.

Little bit of a throatier sound from the v6 but yeah, without forced induction that's about all you get from them

I got my DT's for $600 or so to my door with an out of state seller so no tax - they drop ship from 40 miles away from my place anyway.

You could have a stainless 2.5 all the way back with the other $600.

Does anyone know who TRD contracted to make the TRD headers? Was it JBA or DT? If so, I can't imagine there'd be any difference between the two really other than the branding

JBA and DT don't look like the TRD's. I have no idea what company made the TRD's.

Hm maybe whoever they contracted to do it did a TRD specific design. Wasn't sure if it was like the superchargers where the branding was the only difference

I thought it was one of the two DT/JBA at least at the time.

Like the superchargers yeah - wouldn't be surprised if a company made all performance headers for Yota.

Look at the loop on the driver's side of DT's and JBA's for an easy way to see the unique "loopless" TRD design. It's possible one of the companies made them, but it's strange that they would change the design after.
