Does the person giving you those sharp objects have life insurance on you? Just thinking out loud here.... :p

Puppy day 4. Realize I have muscles that I totally forgot about, puppies should have longer legs. He learned to tip over his water bowl today. I cleaned it up he looked at me and he did it again without even moving his stare from me. He now has a small enameled cast iron pot for a water bowl.

He found a spot on the bottom shelf of the entertainment system today while I was on a conference call.

Yes that is an old copy of Cesar Millan's How to be leader of the pack. He now managed to climb under the shelves next to me, I think. I am afraid to move and wake him to find out.

the axe-ident was pretty funny actually.
It was late afternoon on a cool Saturday.
dropped Husband and friend off for a short hike. I went back to our campsite, prepped dinner, figured I still had some time before I had to pick them up. Started splitting some kindling off the fire wood. Hit a tree knot. Axe bounced up and came right back down bottom corner of the head just barely missed the knee cap.
1st thought: Dammit! Those are my brand new hiking pants.
2nd: maybe I better roll up the pant leg and see what’s going on.
3rd: eww. I see a little blood but I also see the fatty tissue that’s not supposed to be visible normally.

Grab a sterile square from first aid. Applied pressure and drove to the park visitor center (still applying pressure) and got a proper bandage from the dude on duty. I Sealed it up with purple plaid duct tape. I wasn’t gonna have any dirt getting in there. Promptly drove to the trailhead and picked everyone up. Husband noticed slight limp. I ‘splained I had an ‘axe-ident’.
I was not about to drive 45 minutes to nearest-still rural-hospital on a Saturday night.
continued our camp out thru Sunday. Drove the hour home. Dropped off camper. Then drove another 30 minutes to ER. Got lectured by ER doc about waiting 36 hours blah blah blah. now I have a stick bug on my knee for ever. The end.

Son split his chin just below the lip the morning of a 2 day backpack. We used superglue, no scar.
