Yea, they easily bring $11k at an auction. Mainly because if you are lucky enough to find one, it typically only has double digit miles on it. It takes a lot to be entrusted/selected by the military. I think it would be cool to have a piece of history. It would be hard selecting one over a much more modern motorbike for the same money though.

They've been making KLR's for a long time now. I occasionally buy parts for them since they're interchangeable with my Bayou 300. A lot of the electrical components. I keep a spare OEM stator, reg/rectifier, and cdi. I think my reg/rec and CDI is from a KLR

Yea, they say most repairs can be made on the trail on them with a handful of tools because of their simplicity. I kinda remember old people saying the same thing about newer vehicles with power windows too though. :D How it's just more shit to break.

The one manual trans 4runner that I had was a pretty dark green 2001 with a tan interior. I bought it from a customer at my work for $700, it needed a starter and a interior cleaning. I switched out the 4 brand new tires onto my wife's 02 4runner then sold it to a Mexican guy that I know with my wife's old tires for $1500. I helped him pop start it and he drove off. Hes still driving it today.

If it was a limited with the Elocker I think I wouldve kept it for myself. But I still love my black 4runner, I bought it back in 2012 with 166k miles and a leaking radiator from a customer at my work. For the past 8 years it has treated me great and never left me stranded. For the past 3 years I've been driving it back & forth to WV every weekend.
