The last segment of the video shows what some think are clues to a new 650 or 700 KLA or possibly even a KLX version of the larger cc bike. They stopped production of the 650 in 2018 so they need something to compete with the larger cc bikes like the Yamaha T700, among others.

 

The KLR and the DRZ were largely unchanged for a really long time right? Pretty simple carbed single cylinder thumpers. I wish 2 wheels was in the cards for me. Seem like so much fun.

 

Simple and effective way to mount traction boards, and also pretty much anything else to your rack.

Hey gents- what do you guys use as eye bolts in your roof rack tracks?

 

Never knew that. I always thought the Elocker was a option on the limited.

 

I just use 1/4x20 bolts with nut and washer to secure to the rails, then slide whatever over the bolt and nut with washer to hold it down

 

I don't know much about the DRZ but yes, the KLR has been unchanged. Honda has the CR too. It is basically the same since the 1800's

I have ridden motorcycles since the 70's. It all started with a mini bike. Then a dirt bike, then a street bike. I rode Harleys for almost 30 years. I miss having a bike. I feel like a dual sport would open up more possibilities to ride more often. A lot of times I run into town to see my Mom, or run to the pharmacy or Chipotle, or whatever. A bike that starts every time would be fun. Having it for off roading instead of the truck would be fun.

 

Thanks Brian. Yea, the octagon is way cool. I didn't think I'd like it but I definitely do. Right now they are drying in the garage with a heater on them. One they are not tacky any more I want to put one more coat of linseed oil on them. Then I'll mount he axe heads. I plan on putting the heads on, locking them into the workmate with the wedge side of the eye up, and before I put the wedges in I am going to keep applying linseed oil until I'm sure they can't absorb any more.

 

This is an old pic of my truck, but I have these 4 kayak j-hooks for sale. Anybody interested in them? I can help you mount them.
