Anyone have any pictures of these installed on their truck? It's quite obvious how the brackets are to be mounted, but it doesn't really seem to fit right. There are no instructions, which is OK I guess, but I can't seem to find a good picture of these installed that doesn't include bed plastic modification.

It seems to me that the MX4 rails will now sit 3/16" higher and 3/16" inward (towards the bed interior) where the KB uprights sit. Seems like that would damage the bed cover rails by warping them. I don't know. I mocked them up on one side and it worked, per se, but is no longer water proof and may cause tri-fold closure issues. Let me know what you guys have. The material is well made. Just not keen on the fitment, but perhaps I'm missing something.

Odd. No one has used this bed rack with a MX4?

I have an MX4 and really tempted to go this route too. I am curious on this answer. My thought was to put additional closed cell foam on the under side on the MX4 to create as best a seal as possible. I don't want to cut into the bed plastic. But, MX4 is low profile so I am curious if the hi rise will make it look goofy, create water leaks, and prevent it from securely latching on each tri-fold latch. Pictures of the set up would be nice.

I got nothing from KB VooDoo. While they did return my call, they were unable to provide pictures of what he said was their most popular item. I thought this was odd. Moving on.

I installed the rack and it works OK. The MX4 will still function as intended with the uprights in place, but leaking will be a problem. As was mentioned, foam under the MX4 should remedy this, but I feel this should have been supplied by KB VooDoo. Aside from the fitment, they still have NOT corrected their powder coating issues. These came with a few blemishes in the coating (probably from shipping) which isn't a big deal as I don't mind touching up as needed, but where the parts interlock, the powder coating is not holding up and I will likely have them re powder coated.

All of that being said, I don't believe there is another company offering a solution for the MX4 Bakflip, so I am grateful that I found a solution that will work given a bit of help. The pieces are stout and look great out of the box. Would I recommend this setup? If you have the Bakflip and want to carry equipment over your bed, I'd say this solution can work for you given your willing to put in a small bit of effort to seal around the brackets, but its not crucial. The powder coating is a big letdown. Especially considering that this has been going on for years with this company and was said to be fixed. I haven't contacted them about my issues and I'm sure they would send me replacements, but I'm fairly certain the replacement parts wouldn't hold up any better. This is a very thin coating. By contrast, my rock rails from Shrockworks have been on the truck for two years and don't have a single scratch on them.

For reference, the rack was installed on Friday and removed 2 days later. I don't plan on running this rack full time, just as needed, but I wanted to confirm fitment. Let me know what you think.

I also just ran into this exact same issue- except I have a Gen 2 without the relocated rails, so have no way to attach the Hi Rise bars unless I use the same bolts to mount both the hi rise and the tonneau cover (which means I could only put in one bolt into each riser). Did you consider modifying your mx4 by removing some of the metal rail that runs along the inside of the bed? I think this would work but seems like a drastic step. I'm still not sure why the mx4 has this rail running along the entire length of the bed but maybe I'm missing something...

Hey Guys - I noticed a gap when installing my hi rise bars yesterday at the end of the cover near the tailgate. Any of you guys experience this?

No. Mine lays flat. I can tell you that during my install, I tried to push these areas down as much as I could to avoid this. Try sitting on the rails as you tighten them. The Bakflip mounts are slotted.

@rageman or @Adoan do you happen to have a photo of the bolts you used to mount the bracket to the bed rail? I swapped from a 2017 with an OEM tonneau cover to a 2020 with a backflip. I received the new brackets without the mounting hardware.

Just curious, why are you opting to use a rack w/ the MX4? It doesn't look like you have the ability to open the cover at all once the rack is installed. I bought an MX4 but am considering selling it and getting a cover that is more compatible w/ a rack, so just curious to hear why you guys are sticking w/ the MX4.

Too many mods and I haven't even started yet..
I don't have this setup yet, but I am pretty much settled on a Bakflip and Billie Bars for my needs. The way I figure it, it's so rare that I'll haul something that won't fit under the cover that I can just take off the rack, it's only 8 bolts for the Billie (4 for the Voodoo). And when I do, the Bakflip will become a makeshift headache rack.

The cross bars are quickly removed when needed if you have the "comfort grip knobs". It's quite simple, really. Mine came with the locking bolts, but KB VooDoo later sent the comfort grip knobs free of charge. Very nice of them. When I bought the cross bars, I planned to only run them while running the RTT, but seeing that the uprights are a bit of pain to install/remove, I've just opted to run the bars full time. It makes transport of my bike easier anyways.

I liked the low profile look of the MX4 and KB Voodoo is the only one that I could find that would work with the MX4. Not ideal, but it works.

@rageman if you can take a picture of the bracket attached to the bed rail that would be awesome!

Is there a reason why the KB brackets hang past the bed sides? Seems a little strange for that much of a over hang. Not sure.

The front one just sits pas the edge, but due to the taper of the bed, the rear looks like it hangs over more.
