Well I knew that stuffing this g56 in a Tacoma was going to be tight but I didn’t think it was going to be cut the trans tunnel and floor out kinda tight...

the engine is tilted down like crazy in this picture too. So it’s way worse then this still

Here’s the new case next to the old one. Need to grab my pullers from work so I can break down the shafts and rebuild everything. Got new bearings and seals going in it.
After I put the trans back together I’ll pull the engine and redo the mounts and cut out the trans tunnel.
    one thing after another..
Done changing direction with power train now tho. So time to make it all fit again... 403214D3-1687-446D-B466-486EDBDA31B3.jpg

Well back to square one almost with the engine and trans.
Engine was out. Cut out part of the firewall and floor. Need to clean it up still and start to fab a new tunnel but the shifter couldn’t have came out in a better location to the seat. also didn’t account for the fact that the trans is pretty tall and is about 2 or 3inches lower then my oil pan at the back so I’m going to be adding a super heavy skid plate to the trans mount so I don’t destroy the rear case if I land on it.

Biggest downside is that I have to relocate my pedals so I’ll be building a new pedal assembly.
Haven’t decided yet but I’m not sure if I should just say screw it at this point and buy a racing pedal box and fab it into the firewall.

Fun fact the g56 is 3 inches longer then the entire 4bt.
other then the obvious few steps backwards more progress! 09A479EE-ED20-4D38-A588-72DCD0A9E45F.jpgFA642F54-5CD9-4EBA-BCB5-A9232A0F8F14.jpg0FCE2BE4-2DE5-401D-B0FF-375938A4A6D7.jpg38E08C40-A852-4E9A-AA07-56739A91D6BE.jpg

    Thanks guys!!
I know it’s a slow Build and I’m sorry for that. Finding time hasn’t been the easiest and it’s pissing me off. I want to drive this thing!!

Yeah still here. Just haven’t touched the Tacoma in quite awhile. It’s tucked away on the back burner until we close on our new house. Have been building the wife a 3rd gen 4Runner in the driveway in the mean time tho
