Just signed up TW yesterday. I pulled the trigger on a 21 Off Road Crew Cab LongBed on The 27th of October. The truck has yet to arrive from transport and ETA is another week-2 weeks due to production volumes
    1. 2021 OR DCLB 4x4 Cement
    2. MSRP = $39,9k
    3. Options: Technology Package basic
    4. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate = $38,9k ($39,9 - $1000) but they mention I have to wait to see what the best rebates, promotions that are available
    5. Discount 1-(#4/#2)*100=% off MSRP) = None
    6. Incentive (rebate/customer cash) = they stated they would look at rebates once the vehicle arrives. Is this odd?
    7. Price Out The Door (OTD) = $42,800
    8. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim) = NONE but the dealer purchased my Honda for 12k outright/they stroked a check. I’ll be putting the entire down payment towards the truck to keep payments low as possible.
    9. Kelley blue book trade-in value =none
    10. Trade allowance(amount given for trade) = NONE
    11. Date purchased: 10/27/20
    12. State purchased: FL.
    13. I see folks getting cheaper prices than MSRP currently or receiving rebates. I got my own financing through my credit union. I’m not a recent college grad and so on, but my thought is to haggle them for something once the vehicle arrives.

I think you're a little too early in posting since you haven't actually purchased the truck yet. Looks like you got $1k below MSRP, before incentives/rebates. It makes sense they haven't been factored in since you won't know if the truck will arrive in November, December or possibly later.
If you already told them you were financing through your own credit union you lost some of your bargaining chips on price. You could haggle some more and tell them you'd finance with Toyota for more off and see if they'll match your credit union's APR. If they'll give you more off with financing through Toyota but can't match the APR, just refinance with your credit union afterwards.

I'll have to post the numbers this Friday, but I think I've found a deal I'm going to take since it's literally the only vehicle that has met my criteria in two months.

As stock as possible TRD Offroad DCLB, $1500 off MSRP (before rebates/incentives) and the promise of high value on my trade-in to take a good chunk off the difference. Close to private value I'm being told.

Even if they try to screw me on the trade, I'll probably push a little more on the price and drop a deposit.

Have a pending offer on a DCSB SR5 4x4 trail edition army green at $35,400 Sticker price is $38,975, so essentially 9% including rebates.

Now trying to decide whether to spend a bit more for a TRD off road or not. I like the wheels in the trail edition more and don’t need the read locker or extras on the TRD off road.....but resale will be better.

Are they throwing in any accessories? That’s a pretty good deal. Same truck here, MSRP 38,225, the dealer quoted 36k.

I’m leaning the SR5 because I just don’t need the off-road features. Limited edition SR5 with a desirable color will have strong resale IMO.

I’m not sure what accessories I would want....off the top of my head a tri fold cover. I’ve heard the OEM is terrible compared to a Bak-flip though. Any other accessories I should keep my eye on? Thanks

Did you already put down a deposit? Either way, I would shop that deal around to some other dealers in Florida. if you’re going to try and haggle them down a little on the price then you’re going to want to bring something in for leverage. If you’ve already put down a deposit then you’ve lost a little leverage. But that’s OK because you can get some back. Show them a quote from another dealer and have them match it. It seems silly but many dealers really want to see something in writing before they will beat it.

And a lot of credit unions are giving small cash bonuses of a couple hundred bucks for refinancing with them nowadays. If you can do that combined with the $1k for financing through Toyota you’ll really be making out.

Out of Curiosity, assuming you’ve compared both, do you know if they both have automatic up and down windows in the front? Might sound silly but I always hated that my 2016 SR5 didn’t have that for the passenger side only the driver side but yet my 2020 OR has it for both.

I don’t know if the resale will necessarily be much better so I wouldn’t base my decision on that. It’s hard to say and I could be wrong but I really think that all Tacoma’s are going to hold their value really well. I know all mine have and I’ve had SRs and SR5s. If anything, I would say that if you add $3000 worth of options to a truck I don’t think you’re going to get $3000 more for it when reselling later. There are probably things that people want when buying used like the LED lights or leather but are you really going to get $4000 more for a truck because it has leather? I wouldn’t think so but again I can’t say for sure. On the other hand, $450 for the LED headlights, yes probably.

I love the OEM. 60 seconds to remove by myself when I need to get the dirtbike in the back. Super sturdy and secure. Never had a backflip. Although the plastic has faded a little more than I would’ve liked. But on the other hand not sure how many are not going to fade after four years of South Carolina sun beating on it. I’m actually about to put a ceramic coat on it today.

I agree. I think if I go with SR5, I would go with the bare bone. If I go with the TRD OR (which I am planning to do), I would get the tech package, and upgrade shocks, and other stuff later.

I always have leather seats in all my cars. However, as I plan to do off road using tacoma, I will get the fabric and have the seat covers.

Hello, new to TW looking to get my first Tacoma. I tried going the Costco route, the dealer would not show me the Costco price sheet which I thought they're supposed to and gave me a dealer quote instead. I'm looking for a TRD OR Manual double cab with no packages, truck would have to be ordered. The quote I got was $35700 before rebates and TTL which is only $1k off MSRP of $36700. I'm in AZ and not a whole lot of deals out here, should I keep looking or pull the trigger and put the deposit down? Also is Costco not being honored anymore?

New to the site, just purchased based on Internet pricing for dealer here in SW Florida. Worth it for 4x4 upgrade as I'll be in Colorado soon. Plus when I saw the Army Green I had to go for it.

Sounds like the dealer is lying and it’s not actually a Costco dealer. Did you go through the Costco website to find the Costco dealer? I think dealers that are not Costco dealers generally hate hearing about the Costco price. And probably right now dealers that even our Costco dealers probably hate hearing about the Costco price. Not many dealers are actually Costco dealers. Call Costco or go online and go through the Costco car buying website if you have not done that yet.
