many moons ago, one of those stinky candle stores in the mall - you know the one, smelled like someones overperfumed grandma that you can detect three stores away... anyway, one time they had a scent Fresh Cut Grass. It was spot on and soooo goooooddd! Again, living in the desert sucks.

that was beautiful! we've got Whitney on our agenda for late summer next year. Zion is beautiful, but I left a huge chunk of my heart in Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada...

I often run the AC and the seat heater at the same time. I pulled my lower back Sunday when moving the generator during the power outage. Munching Motrin for breakfast.

Yes and no. Was home, heard all the chatter and talk. Was not involved. Theres still many questions I have about how the search was handled. And theres tons of questions for the lady. But... if its a mental health issue, thats her business, it may never be known or answered...

You should try climbing both Mt Ritter 13,500ft and Banner peak 12,900ft both rated at difficult but you can climb both in a day . The only issue is climbing the glacier that separates both mtns

The view from either peak is breathtaking and you can see MT Whitney from both peaks

I just cant understand how someone gets lost so close to the trail - I think the news said she was less than 1/2 mile from the trail? how did she not hear anyone on the trail and know to go that way? how did no one see her for so long? just doesn't add up... I was expecting to hear that she was stuck in a slot canyon and got hit by a boulder or something like the 127 Hours guy.
a few years ago there was a missing persons alert for a young guy in yellowstone. his family knew he was heading here, his car was found at a trailhead, rangers went in and looked for him along the trail. nothing. full on S&R ensued. They finally found his body - he had gone way off trail and shot himself. He was a vet, fresh home from Iraq or Afghanistan. He went out of his was to go to a place with the intent not to be found and they still located him faster than they found the lady in Zion.

yeah.... 70 here right now, 7" of snow expected this weekend. i went for a walk earlier. in a t shirt and shorts. in montana. in november o_O

there's a documentary called Mile, mile and a half about a group who hiked the john muir trail. all shot on hand held cameras, aspiring filmmakers. nothing earth shattering but I thought they captured a lot of nice footage of the area. might want to check it out.
