Might have missed this but what exhaust and gears are you running? I wonder if you need a bigger downpipe. Can you post a vid of higher rpms like when both the vtec’s kicks in? Do you know your intake air temps? Would be interesting to know how well the intercooler is working.

I know nothing of supercharging but when I was a VW guy a 1.8T 180hp with a $500 tune was good for about 220ish and with a larger exhaust downpipe and WAI was good for 240ish and a $5k turbo kit was 340+ hp.

excited to see you all start upgrading hardware and tweaking the software accordingly.

Yeah the pulley bolt was challenging. I tried 3 different impact wrenches and couldn’t get it off. I ended up just bumping the starter. I wish I bumped the starter from the beginning, it took care of it quick. To re-torque I used a 24” chain wrench to hold the pulley while I torqued the bolt with a big as torque wrench. I wrapped the pulley with an old piece of serpentine belt to protect it from getting damaged by the chain wrench. I tied the chain wrench to the frame to hold it in place. I couldn’t get it torqued above 175 ft lbs, so I just hit it with the impact wrench for a bit and called it good.

edit: by the way it’s 204 ft lbs and not 240.

Rigid 1/2" impact made quick work of removing the bolt. I tried using a pulley holder at first and just kept bending the M8 bolts threaded in to the crank pulley. The Rigid gun won't fit to put the Magnuson pulley back on cuz the radiator is in the way. If i ever have to remove the bolt I'll need to cut down a socket so the gun will clear the radiator.

To tighten though I used a strap wrench braced against the frame rail and then just pulled like hell with a torque wrench

For those that have the supercharger - how is the drivability? Any issues so far?

Loving it. Better than stock with the manual.
It was a little touch and go while the ECU was learning but it’s great now.
I can start in 2nd gear from a stop all day (not that you’d want to lol) and passing in 6th gear is just as easy as 4th gear used to be.

I like it. It pulls much better. Still, it has space to improve i.e, tuning.

How many times have you run out of gas since installing those gauges?

If you move your head 3” to the right you can see the gas gauge.
My boost gauge is there too. I use tank avg mpg vs trip odometer anyway. I fill up 20 gallons on the dot almost every time. Usually about 30 miles after the 0 miles left warning.

The MT gearing is much better than the automatic; the overall ratio in 6th gear in the MT is equivalent to somewhere between 4th and 5th in the automatic. The truck is already more lively because of this and the supercharger just adds to it. Maybe drivers with automatics will be less impressed with the supercharger.

Definitely suspect that's influencing some of the neutral reviews. I'm ok with a conservative tune. I'd much rather have a tune for longevity. Ordered 4.88's that should get delivered today, so that should help the gearing issues. Just waiting for CARB cert.

If the automatic guys put their foot down enough to open the vacuum bypass on the supercharger their truck should shift down and go.

When I’m looking straight I can see the gas gauge from half tank to full. Move my head a little to the right I see the whole gas gauge. It’s not an issue.

    What are you disappointed with?
Are you sure you have a good seal. You should be seeing 7lbs of boost above 3k and 5psi right after idle

the person you quoted has also since changed his tune about this after getting the updated magnuson tune (no pun intended)

Come on Magnuson get the CARB and 4.88 Tune advertised for release! You have had plenty of time for the "tune" - so easy even a Caveman could do it if they had your resources. CARB - I understand since it is the "Golden State" you are working with/against. Communication please. And no false BS like the HMFC.
