    That looks great on your rig! I think the problem for me is that my rig doesn't look like an overlanding rig. Nor do I want it to look that beefy. And the RLD canopies (and alu-cap types as well), just don't look right for a daily driver that's not all decked out. I wonder if it would be possible to build a stainless or aluminum cap that doesn't look like a swiss army knife.

    I have the six foot bed version. It does change the look a bit but as far as access goes I can easily reach all corners from the side hatches. I can even open the cab-side slider from the side of the truck. I’m 6’1”.

    I’ve been living with this canopy for over a month in some pretty heavy Seattle area fall rain, and I’m still really happy with it.

    The Camp King is another aluminum canopy that is now available state side. Doesn’t look a whole lot different from the RLD, RSI, Alu-Cab crowd but it is another option.

    Cool! I don’t think any of these canopies are perfect...yet. Hopefully with some healthy competition they will continue to adapt and listen to costumers to create an even better product. Cheers! :thumbsup:

    Honestly, it looks good! Maybe the cement color makes it all work :) Are you liking the RSI cap?

    Just put mine together and got it on the truck, I'll take some pictures this week and put them up. so far i love it, I think it looks great on the tacoma. I'm located on Van isle and we just had a week of heavy rain and the canopy did leak where the side panels connect with the roof panel tho... kinda disappointing. I'll likely run a small bead of silicon but i'm going to wait and see what RSI says back to me since the do claim the canopy is weather proof. Any one else have any rain issues?

    @JrwTaco im in the PNW and have had zero issues with water intrusion (besides the actual truck bed)

    you’re doing the right thing, reach out and then act accordingly. It’s a big investment to get in a hurry or frustrated and do something that could have negative effects.

    let’s see that bad boy!

    Got 4 separate compliments on my canopy today, and 2 specifically about how nice it looked in the cement grey truck.

    I'm a little disappointed that they use the same side window/doors on the 5' bed as the 6' bed. Don't get me wrong, I think its the best looking cap on the market....but why not make it better and make a side window bigger for the 6' bed?

    Production costs. I’d venture to guess they use the same windoors on every model they make. It’s by far the most expensive part of the cap to produce. Much simpler to layout the rest of the sheet metal around the existing glass than design, manufacture, and stock different glass for every make and model of truck they provide for globally.

    @Aaronparker001

    So far the RSI cap against black paint, cement, even against blue, etc, it just looks killer! And the running the wire through the top air vent, super smart! Good call on that. Really liking the awning too. The fact that you've got the full gullwing side window open under the awning is great.

    Thanks for posting pictures!

    Yeah it pushes the fabric up maybe two inches which really isn’t worth me worrying about imo. Loving how versatile this canopy is!

    FYI for those looking to make their own “crossbars” the rails actually get narrower from center to center as you travel towards the rear.
