Hi I have a 2010 toyota tacoma, and I have the free matince for the 5,000 miles should i wait till then or take it every 3,000 miles any help.

 

ya do it yourself. you can use synthetic and extend the intervals, if you want...

 

3000 miles is the scam put across the country by Jiffy Lube. Check your owners manual for the oil change interval. There is not one car out there that is is 3K. Toyota recommends 5K. I do mine myself, the last time I had the truck at the dealer some knuckhead put a ding in the side panel. Welcome to TW and congratulations on the new truck. There are a lot a great mods and a lot of people with knowledge to help here.

Free for 5,000 miles? How many or just one at 5,000?

I have always had mine done between 3,000 and 5,000... trying to stay closer to 3. The oil staying clean will give you longer engine life... My previous 2 Tacomas both had over 100,000 miles on them in about 4 years and not one engine issue. Had my '10 in for an oil change yesterday... at 18,556 miles (just a couple days from being one year old)... It was 4,000 miles since the last oil change. $39 at dealer every couple of months is peace of mind and little money to maintain a 32,000 dollar vehicle if you ask me.
