My 2010 is a Sport, so JBL, which complicates the radio upgrade......if I go with Toyota, it’s about $900 Preowned IF I can find it,

Get an aftermarket headunit. Much easier to upgrade with better features and it’s significantly cheaper.

It's the base factory radio. I have to say that the aftermarket options are a lot better, and getting parts for this to work has been a challenge.

I got this from OfferUp for $85, but I had to get accessories from Toyota, Amazon, and eBay to get it to work. I still haven't figured out the gps or satellite radio but I only really wanted Bluetooth and for my steering wheel controls to work.

I bought the radio from OfferUp, it was listed as a 19, but it's label says 18? I don't know how that works. I did have to buy the dash surround out of a 15 to get it to fit mostly well. I'm gonna post pictures of it in daylight because I think there's a gap I can't see at night.

Only the drivers window switch for the drivers window lights up, none of the other switches have lights in them.

Well it fit! But I had to take off my Pelican case. Womp womp. And my awning. I'll get it sorted out though. IMG_20201106_103326347_HDR.jpg received_3376430225801780.jpg

I am in middle of doing all my gaskets and come to realize the amount of shite involved lol. I did find my coolant leak (water bypass pipe) that sparked the endeavor in first place. But now I'm replacing timing cover, waster pump, fan clutch, fan shroud, and a few others since the engine is mostly apart anyway. (If quotes of doing this is around 3500, them I'm kinda flag I'm trying this myself)

Whilst I have this thing apart, any other things I should replace? I'm at about 165k miles. Gen 2, 4cyl.

Just replaced my ’06 hu last Christmas. Not because it was having issues. I just wanted touchscreen and CarPlay.

Yeah I know, I know. I'm getting some new tires soon, and getting them mounted on new wheels, so I was gonna get everything cleaned up then.

My factory head unit in my 2010 started having issues after about 8 years and I replaced it with a Kenwood carplay unit. On really hot days it would randomly stop working. My guess is a connection came loose and when it got really hot materials expanded just enough to break the connection. Not sad because wireless carplay is the shit!

Gave her the first bath I've ever given her. Also sprayed underneath so I can rubber coat it.

Back in my audiophile/IASCA days, Richard Clark (owner of the SpeakerWorks Buick Grand National) said that most OEM head units offer better clarity than aftermarket. He suggested the only reasons to upgrade would be if the factory HU dies, or you absolutely need the RCA outputs for competition.

Hey man, do you care to measure the height from the top of your camper top to the highest point on your Prinsu top rack? I'd like to replace my Thule bars with a Prinsu but have the same issue as you as far as garage door opening height. I've attached a pic as an example of the measurement I need. Thanks!
