How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

How long did it take for you to take delivery of your truck from date of deposit on a factory direct order? I placed a deposit on a 2021 SR5 DCSB on 9/28/2020, its now 11/6/2020 and the rep still does not have an estimate as to when the truck will even be built. Have you guys experienced a similar wait time for your 2021?

Preordered a sport on Sep 10. It was built yesterday, but I am still waiting for an updated time frame of arrival. That being said I believe there are many factors that can change this. I would assume the 3 month is probably a great standard starting point.

Edit: To add to your comment. I was told the build date about a month in advance. I assume that doesn't mean anything concrete though.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I put my deposit down on June 11, 2020. At the time I was looking for a 2020 configured my way. Was told by the dealer that they couldn't "order" it that way but could possibly tweak a Tacoma in their allotment just before it goes into production. Further, I wanted an Access Cab and Toyota Corporate seems to want to put only Double Cabs in New England. After several letters to Toyota Corporate to get the attention of higher ranking sales VPs, I was finally able to get one into production as a Special Order (outside of my dealer's allotment).
The truck arrived last week. After some hard-core negotiating on the price, I will be taking delivery next week. Only took 5 months! Of course the dealer's sales manager is crying that "we're not making any money on this deal." But then, I'm also feeling that I'm paying too much. Given that, I figure the final deal is a fair price - dealer actually does make some profit and I'm paying less than MSRP.
However - it's a 2021, not a 2020. Toyota has since shuffled some of the features in the packages that I wanted, and eliminated one package that I wanted as well.
As far as how it's configured, I can accept how it was built. Besides, once I add my own touches to it, it'll be the Taco that I wanted.
Can't wait to pick it up!!

I 'ordered' my Sport DCLB on 9/12 and was just informed it will be delivered the 3rd week of December. Almost 4 months.

I placed a deposit on one the first week of August, i was told they could "order" one. I never had heard how Toyota actually does it until i read a post on here a few weeks back about the allocation process. I went & talked to the dealer about it, he then tells me how it works. He then said i could be waiting 3 or more months after i had been waiting since August. I had found a truck online just like i had ordered, so i got my deposit refunded & bought one 450 miles away. Papers have been signed, just waiting on the auto transport to pick it up & deliver it, which hopefully i will be getting it by the end of next week.

12 weeks to redirect an allocation that met my needs.

*EDIT: I'm an idiot. Mine is a 2020.

Ordered/allocated a 2021 Off-Road DCSB, MT, Voodoo Blue about 9/14, built 10/21 at their new Guanajuato, Mexico plant, last known location (on rail) was Alliance, TX on 11/3, dealer arrival estimate 11/16 (could be earlier). This was from screenshots my salesman sent me as he is watching/tracking this. I'm getting antsy as I already traded in my 2019 Sport on 10/26 so the wife and I have been carpooling. The waiting is just like it was when I was a kid waiting for Christmas....

I put a deposit/hold on a Pro that was already scheduled to be built, but was still unclaimed back in late September.
The truck was built on 10/19, and I was told it would be shipped to MN by 11/10. It is currently at the railhead and was flagged for inspection, so it's being delayed a little bit.

When I ordered my 2018 Pro I had to wait 7 months. They don't really build it for you, they re allocate it.

This sound nearly the same when i ordered my 2020 SR5 last january at a new england dealer. I too wanted an access cab with certain options and color, but only built in texas. Not one dealer for 250 miles had it in stock, only double cabs....closest was a similar type build in the mid-west. I ended up ordering which took just a week over 2 months. Dealer added nearly all the options i wanted that wasn't available in the factory order. Very happy with this truck. Got now 5k miles on it, and its only getting better.

I couldn't find what I wanted in stock anywhere so I had my dealer allocate/order my DCLB Off Road on 8/14. It was built in San Antonio and arrived on 10/8.

Wish mine was built in San Antonio (my 2019 TRD Sport was). It seems to take a LONG time from Mexico factory to KC distribution...actually, the train was in Laredo, TX on 10/29, then Temple, TX on 11/2, and Alliance, TX on 11/3. I could have flown down to TX to pick it up and been home by now. It is SLOW!!

I was under the impression that all 2021s were going to be built in Mexico so I was surprised when I found out mine was coming out of the San Antonio plant. It still had to be shipped to the Houston port and then back to San Antonio, where I live. That took about 6 days.

That was efficient, huh?? (Sarcasm). I'm hoping my dealer will call me at the beginning of next week to let me know it arrived....

Definitely didn't seem the most efficient, especially since I wasn't getting anything installed at the port but I guess Toyota has to justify their delivery fee somehow :(. I tried to talk them into a factory tour and delivery but that was a hard no. :D Hope you get some good news soon.

Totally hit it just right...1 week. Dealer put out request and I was assigned a truck being built that week and arrived the following Monday. If they have a build that hasn't been assigned and it matches your requirements, it's yours.

When i use to go to quebec quite often in the winter i use to see a lot of trailers left at the border sitting in customs parking areas. I'm thinking it takes time for them to clear customs which would be a delay.
