If you had a choice, how would you cover your sub enclosure? With carpet or vinyl?

I can't seem to decide... I think vinyl might have a more "finished" look if it's done right, but can't decide...

I don't like how vinyl squeaks when it rubs up against other things, so I'm going to vote for pink carpet.

I would think the carpet would be more durable, but the vinyl would probably look better. Id go with carpet

    Didn't think about that...

Carpet is definitely going to be easier to work with. I think that's what I'm gonna do. I can alway recover it later... :)

I'm gonna try the vinyl when I finish my box/amprack. I know it is out there somewhere the vinyl to match the black dimpled pattern of the dash and door. I know someone who vinyled their enclosure with the dimpled vinyl that matched.

I've got 2 tone gray color matched vinyl. If you can do it well, I think it would look great. I did mine in the dark on a hot and humid summer night. I wouldn't recommend that...
The vinyl wrap job didn't turn out that well but I never look at it and it doesn't affect anything. I do plan on re doing it when I get motivated.
The color actually matches well, it was dark when this pic was taken...

It does not squeak because it does not move.

Another idea I have heard around here is getting it line-x'ed. I was tempted to do that.

I got my vinyl at a place called Jo-Ann Fabric, here in KC. They do have a nice heavy black color that might be an option if you want black...

Somebody mentioned the durability of the vinyl. I will say that it is definitely a factor. The vinyl seems to scratch if you're not careful. Getting the box of the sub box tore the bottom section of vinyl up. I ended up just taking the entire back seat out.

I like the line-x idea lol... I was going to say go all out and use an alumnium sheet and some paint.

Damn, that's pretty nice. Way more than I'm planning to do, but I it. That center channel mount is pretty cool.

But I think my favorite part is the Toyota emblem in the sub box.

    That is nice . . .
BTW, According to Alpine you will lose the warranty if you mount the PDXs vertically.

I've never dealt with *********.com but I have heard stories about how people would order stuff and their orders would be short installation accessories, they never got their order, or it took forever to receive the order. Also, if you can't call em on the phone don't buy from em. They still don't have a phone number listed.
