i'm sure if you posted a pic of your hand we could debunk it right quick

 

it was a runner so I'm sure we can get it started again. From what my buddy says it probably needs a valve adjustment or other top end work because it was getting noisy

Hum. On my KLR some top end noise was sort of a good thing. It got quiet once they tightened up. Is that thing shim and bucket, or is it something less obsolete?

if that's the case I'm sure I could do it. My neighbor is a motorcycle mechanic and I wonder if he'd like a side job...

Yeah its not hard, just have to be patient, and its good to have some shims on hand and maybe valve cover gaskets if they're old and crappy.

My cousin bought one of those new with a 351 Cleveland. The Cleveland motors would run like a bat out of hell.

 

I was wrong. Looks like a decent weekend project
