I've seen many posts on here about what should be put in your truck when it comes to tools and recovery gear. I believe I've come up with a good setup.

BTW, the toolbox, SwingCase, and Pelican Case are lined with Noico Solutions 80mil sound deadening. The Craftsman box has carpet material on top of the sound deadening, and I used foam i had in my garage as a silhouette for the tools. This is all very easy to do, and I promise you won't break the bank.

Here is the setup for my craftsman toolbox that I have strapped in the bed of my truck.

Here is the setup for the Pelican Case I have mounted on my Rave OFFROAD roof rack:

I have an UnderCover SwingCase in the bed, it just has a bunch of miscellaneous items and gear, including a ratchet wrench and sockets, as well as a bunch of other goodies:

Here is the bed of my truck with both the tool box and SwingCase stowed:

Looks good OP! I have like 3 of those flashlights. They're great. I wrapped some electrical tape around the ends to bite on in case I don't have a headlamp handy.

My only comments, a tire pressure gauge, deflaters, plug kit and a small compressor might help. Those open end wrenches look like they're not metric, so that might be a problem. Another shackle for sure, because you'll need two for those tow straps. A soft shackle for attaching to random stuff. I use tie-down straps instead of bungees. Ditch the jumper cables since you have the top vision booster.. And, of course, a First aid kit.

I put together a basic list :D over here.

I was looking and thinking, well with all that foam it’s a bunch of water space. Then I thought, oh well maybe it’s so he doesn’t get rattles.

then I seen the wrench drawer

:rofl:lol. The whole box is lined with sound/vibration deadening material (80mil butyl) the foam is mainly so the box stays organized so I'm not frantically looking for a tool

I love it. It can easily be removed if necessary and used as a table, seat, step stool, or whatever else. Definitely worth the <$200.00

    No problem!

BTW, tow straps are good for when you need to drag your buddy back to the trailhead because he's fried his clutch, but for recoveries, when another vehicle is stuck in the mud or something, a snatch strap (like this ARB or this Bubba rope) work best.

Nice work. Not much else to add to that......except the wrenches...ahahahahahaha. Kidding of course. You've done 98% of the work.

Very nice setup would those swing cases still work with bed stiffeners?

Huskey from Home Depot, I believe I paid around $60. Lockable, water-tight and fits under the OEM Tacoma bed cover.

Shadowing tools always seemed like a waste of space to me. I have a tool roll with 99% of the stuff I need in it. How come you carry a demagnetizer with you? Haha
