Wow! @Basikbiker has really created a great product/upgrade! I had the pleasure of meeting him yesterday as he installed the new tundra rack. No joke it is like driving a car now...smooth, powerful, responsive steering. I had just upgraded to a TC +2LT and had some mild, heavy, wandering steering on the highway and a slow return to center after curves, like on cloverleaf on/off ramps. That is all gone now...it tracks straight, handles bumps, and makes an LT truck turn like a stock tacoma.

Thanks again Travis! If you're on the fence, hop on over...this upgrade was worth every penny!

Mind if I do the same? Just put in a new rack and honestly the slop feels worse than before

I’m interested in your Tundra steering rack solution. I’d like source my own new rack Toyota part# 442500C131 disassemble and send you the rack gear and control valve assembly to modify. Just have a few questions, are the new mounting barrels included? Tapped to Tacoma inner 14mm? Still charging $450 plus shipping? Thanks!

I got the new rack disassembled. Can you message me your shipping address and how you’d like to be paid? Thanks again for creating another option for us to beef the steering.

I'll be taking orders again in a few weeks...racks are getting harder to source lately and I have a few installs lined up that I need to do for some folks first before I work on another batch. Thanks

I'll be interested in ordering a set and help with installation if you're in CA?

My steering rack isn't leaking but it's making some loud knuckling noises and feels all over the place on the hwy after I replaced the bushing. I thought it was the tie rods but it's coming from inside the innerboot.

Can anyone help verify 100% if this is the right rack? I ordered 2 racks online from junk yards and received one today. fuck is it large. Pictures don't do them justice how large they are compared to the Tacoma rack. It looks identical to the photos posted in this thread and on solo. Just trying to be 100% certain the junk yard didn't screw up and I didn't screw up on the order. Rack ordered is supposed to be compatible with a 2013 tundra.

I'm guessing this is some sort of serial number or QA cert?

    And the Koyo number

    Is this thread dead?

It looks like my steering rack/power steering pump is being less than cooperative.

What are the differences between the JDF steering kit (which appears to be a tacoma steering rack with a linear brace [idk what the term is but that seems to be an accurate description]) and this?

I've got a JDF 2.25" LT kit up front.

The slide rack design is a proven offroad design that helps strengthen the R&P to resist bending which is the cause of blown out tacoma racks where the steel and aluminum parts come together. It also takes up some of the shock load inwards since the load is directed thru the tie rods into the rack "and" into the slide, effectively almost halving the load that the rack took all by itself without the slide rack. Another advantage of the slide rack is if you do have a rack problem offroad, an off the shelf rack can replace it with no mods needed to get off the trail(though you will need to mod it afterwards to accept the seals needed for both ends.
Only disadvantage is the extensive fabrication needed to install this setup.

Tundra Rack: Just flat out stronger because of size. Less fabrication for the end user to install (rack builder has a decent amount of work)
Disadvantage: IF it blows you are not getting a straight replacement from VatoZone.

Im sure there is more but this is what I think I know.
