    Atta boy. You chose wisely.

    Like, next week.

All over the place, depends of dealers and manufacturers. I’d contact the manufacturer and ask.

Need some feedback on stem length logic.

My previous bike had a reach of 450cm and I ran a 50mm stem which felt pretty good.
My next bike has a reach of 460cm. Does it make sense to assume that the 50mm will be too long and that a 40mm stem would provide the similar feel to the previous setup?

It will be too long but a 40 won't have the same feel since you have a 40mm throw instead of 50. Will feel a bit more twitchy at first, but once you get used to it, :notsure:

What kind of riding do you typically do?

Mostly pedally XC/light trail style with punchy short ups/downs. Some steep chunk a few times a year.

Just another talking point but is likely mute to most mortals is that I’ll also be going from a 44mm offset fork to a 51mm offset. Something my meager skill set would never be able to differentiate.

you would be surprised what you'll feel. Yeah, with that type of riding you'll be fine with the stem difference. All set. Your fork offset included might even "balance it out" for feel.

The fork offset crossed my mind as possibly evening things out. I'll start out running the 50mm stem I have and go from there. If I can pick up a cheap 32/35 - 40mm stem off PB to give that length a go I will before buying anything super shinny.

The reach on this frame is the only spec that had me questioning if I should go to a small, but I said F it and jumped on the medium when the opportunity presented itself.

Is the seat tube angle steeper than your previous bike?

Steeper seat tube will make the reach not feel as long.l

@backcountryj The Reach as in frame measurement is more about how it feels while standing. Seated cockpit feel ("reach" to bars) is better determined by effective top tube length IMO. So compare that to your old bike while adding stem. But really, I'd just ride it and see how it feels.

Can't ever get myself to buy into a Pivot's price tag, but as a lifelong Seahawks fan, that colorscheme really appeals to me.

luckily, I saved thousands buying locally minty and used 2020, but thousands saved is still too much TBH.

the guy downgraded to a 2021 Specialized Stumpjumper. When I say downgraded though I'm not referring to bike's ability, I just mean it didn't have factory suspension or X01 groupset.
