And skids and sliders. For that hill. It's worse than it looks in pictures.

The rest of the trail is ok with a stock truck.

Do you have TRD Off Road. If I recall the Sport does not have rear locker. Not sure what that 4Runner is, but if @Thatbassguy doesn’t have lockers, I would think a stock could make it up.

I used the locker a few times. The bigger issue is clearance. I was on my skids a lot. I wouldn't attempt it without skids.

Last year, a bunch of people looked at the pictures and said that hill wasn't shit. Then, almost everyone who has looked at it in person has said "HELL NO!".

@deekyn did it as well. He can confirm what I'm saying.

We can all look at it tomorrow and everyone can decide for themselves.

Yeah, I need to get a real skid plate. I think I have the clearance, but I’m not trying to mess up my truck tomorrow. We’ll see what it looks like tomorrow.

With skids, aired down, use 4lo. A stock sport (open diffs baby) could walk that, even as an MT.

But you know..... With skids and sliders :D

Nope, no locker. All I need is a good head of steam and let the stiff sport suspension bounce up the hill. :fingerscrossed:

I'll defer to the more experienced assessments.

Again, everyone who hasn't seen the hill in person thinks it looks easy. I believe any trim could make it with good tires. But, I got stuck aired down and locked and had to go around a short section. I needed a spotter more than anything. I couldn't stay on the right path.

I suppose I could have aired down further, though.

I believe it man. Pics from Moonlight and Windrock look easy breezy, and then we get out there..... Yew! But hey, that's why I made my comment lol. I've had people encourage me to get my truck up into places I never would

True! I get what you're saying. Honestly, I need to push myself more like I did today. I've looked at that hill a bunch of times. I usually walk away thinking I'll get stuck or something. Today, I decided that I was going to try. And, I'm really glad I did!!

I ended up catching up with @Peeing on jeeps in Mountain. We had a good conversation, and now I'm off to find a good spot to spend the night. I'll see some of you tomorrow! If anyone's running early, let me know. I might go putz around for a bit in the morning. :)

I’m going to give it a shot, but no guarantees. It’s at least 3 hours from here and I’m not much of an early riser...

Damn! Look at you, a proper off-roader! You made it up the rocky hill on the pipeline? Nice work! I went down it and thought it was tough, up is even tougher.

It took a long time. I skipped a short section where I couldn't get traction, but I'll try again with a spotter. I was on the skids and sliders a lot, and on the spare tire where I had to go around.

These Toyotas consistently prove to be more than capable enough for my level if courage!

Yeah, I’m lifted and on 295s and banged around a fair bit on my way down. I sure wouldn’t try it without skids and sliders. I’d say that hill is 3-3.5/5 type rating? Officially in to the hard range, not medium.

Awesome! We’ve got a house we really love and the weather has been amazing. 70s and 80s for the last month, except the 10” of snow we got a week and a half ago that was gone in two days.

This is the view from the backyard...
    3A97AFA7-C640-42AF-9845-3A9928BAF133.jpg

plus I got to run some trails in Colorado (black Bear pass and imogene pass) last month,
am doing a little Offroad adventure today in NM and have a trip lined up with like 150 miles of dirt roads with proper off-roading over two nights in Canyonlands NP lined up next month.
