    Here is a doc that helps with conversions not sure if there is an up-to-date pdf or DOD policy. Page 8 is mil to civilian non vip conversions. It says GS-12 equil to MAJ!
    There a DOD policy somewhere that is somewhat more straightforward than this doc.

    This too is my first post. I just bought a 2004 double cab 4x4 Tacoma. I'm still in at 12 years as an E-8. My first 4 years where at 1/75 Ranger Regiment. They were some of my favorite years so far. I had some great times. If your son is looking to make the most out of his time, whether he only does 4 years or make it a career I would encourage him to give the Ranger Regiment a shot.
