How do you guys think the 5600x will age over 5 years in gaming?

 

Totally fair, my comparison at that point is based on price point. It's close. I don't see any company running away with a 20-30% lead at any point in the neat future.

 

No way to tell. Odds are it'll be fine for a long time but we are also seeing the battle between AMD and Intel heat up. They could innovate quicker than in the past under the pressure.

 

Same question as @Silver02Taco about AMD 5, 7, 9 level cpu's with productivity performance - video editing especially?

 

i dont see any issue running that chip for 5 plus years, hell i dont see me upgrading from my 8700k for another 3-5 years, and the 5600x kills that so.

 

intel is turning into apple. Same shit, different box. Im interested to see what they bring to the table with rocket lake but it already doesnt sound that great.

 

3080 and 240hz monitor is definitely showing how bad of a CPU bottleneck I have now

 

More cores = faster renders. Just buy as many cores as you can in your budget.

 

had the fan on my gigabyte 1050ti crap out. its been running hotter than the zotac in there with it, ordered a new fan and better heatsink. i run nicehash on it 24/7 since its my ip cam pc which is always on. luvin the price of btc now.

 

I wonder how many 3080s are being undervolted and used for mining. Supposedly their hash rate downclocked is pretty good.

I did see a 2070 Super Founders Edition I paid $400 for available for $1500.

I also saw a 2060 Super Founders Edition for $1300.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Unless you already have a video card.

 

What would be a good card to pair with a ryzen 5 3600? Currently have an Alienware 240hz 1080p monitor and it’s definitely not being used to its full potential with my rx580.

 

Best you can afford, maybe upgrade cpu in a couple years

 

its hard resisting the urge to buy cards again now that btc is over 15k, but im working from home now so no free juice. I run a 1080ti in my work pc but its off when im not working. My former mining rig (i3 with 6 slots) just sits empty. amazing 1080ti's still going for 400 on ebay
