I’ve done that, but with additional salt. It doesn’t work as quickly as Roundup, but it does work.

Since it is cheaper to make, I just go heavier on it than I would with Roundup.

yeah salt kills everything. A bit too much oomph for what we want. Don’t want to kill all the bushes.

Water heater question. Hot water seems to fade fast and go to lukewarm quick. Does this point out that my anode is junk. Water heater is it eight years installed, it has been flushed a few times ,but I’ve never change the roads. It is a whirlpool 40g

    Thoughts?

Don't know the cause but look at hybrid heat pump units if you replace it. A friend got one and he has seen a dramatic drop in his electric bill. It also lowers the humidity in his basement. I also have a Whirlpool 40 gallon and whenever it fails I plan to go that route.

My guess is the lower element is toast. That's the element that does the bulk of the heating in a traditional tank-style heater; the top element mostly acts like a 'booster' and controls the thermostat to kick the heater on and off. So if the upper element goes bad, no hot water at all (because it's not triggering the thermostat). If the lower element goes bad, you still get some hot water but not much of it.
A bad anode is usually characterized by rusty-colored water, because the anode has been used up and the water's now corroding the tank instead.

Good news is, a new element is a pretty easy and inexpensive fix most of the time. Bad news is, you have to totally drain the tank to replace it, which can be a pain if it's in the cellar and you don't have a drain system rigged up for it.

I've got a heat pump unit as well, a 50 gallon Rheem. Works great but is a little noisy; kind of like having an old refrigerator running under the cellar steps. Not super loud but you can definitely hear it running when the compressor is on.

I didn't realize you already did the CCV mod! Does it pull the air back in or does it just have a breather on the top?

I installed the Mishomoto catch can. It was a fairly difficult install, it steps the factory oil/air separator out a bit so it can intercept the crank case vent at the back side of the engine. It then runs the vapor through the can and back into the stock air oil separator, keeping it as a closed system, no venting to the atmosphere. Next Spring, I plan to pull the hot side pipe again and see if it looks any cleaner. It was fairly well coated with oil when I removed it to install the catch can.

People I know was in Seekonk, and felt nothing. It seem like the target area was towards the Cape. New Bedford felt more than we did.

New England gets a few small ones here and there. Every few years there’s about a 5.0 or smaller. I used to work at a place with super sensitive fluid scales in the basement in Manchester and apparently the recorders picked one up I thought that was pretty cool.
